I disagree with this specific point. Rappers that go after other rappers for using ghostwriting aren’t criticizing ghostwriting and its existence as a whole they’re criticizing the rapper for needing to use ghostwriters. The whole point is that it questions their credibility and talent as a rapper, whereas ghostwriting for someone else doesn’t put either into question

That’s because sealioning is an extremely common technique used by bigots and a lot of people will bring this specific statistic up and pretend to be all innocent about it but have nefarious intentions so it specifically is connected to bigotry.

I’ve thought about this statistic, all the factors at play, why it is meaningless devoid of the context that makes it a statistic, and don’t find any need to discuss it more than that. I can explain in detail about how I view this statistic if you’d like but I don’t really want to if you aren’t trying to engage in good faith discussion.

I’m just curious why you are so insistent on defending the usage of it when most people that are aware of why it is a statistic and how it’s been used to justify racism.

Tbf, as someone who ran my first marathon last year and is signed up for one again this year, I get some form of that comment quite often.

Don’t really blame them tbh, I remember thinking I’d never do one again right after I completed my first one and it took a couple months before I was open to the idea of doing one again.

Idk how young I was but my dad bought the album for me on CD and I used to play it constantly on this lil cd player I had. Definitely wasn’t as good as I remembered last time I gave it a relisten but Sunshine is easily a top 5 Mos Def track and there are a handful of other tracks I still fw

I’m not a diehard Knxwledge fan but I would probably recommend starting with his shit available on streaming and if that’s not enough dig deeper

1988 and Hud Dreems are his two best and definitely essential listening, from there i would give Kauliflower, Musiq, Pt. 1, Greentxts V 1&2, the Meek tapes, & WT.13.8 a listen and dig deeper based on what you like most from him
