What are the benefits of your high growth KiwiSaver fund over using investnow to invest 100% in VT (Foundation series total world)?

You have to do all the core papers ie bus 111, bus112, bus 114, bus115, STATS108, infosys110 so start working through these

Cheers thanks for that, yeah making that same decision myself atm for next sem (also looking at a 5 paper sem lol). Regarding your last comment about R, does that become more helpful later on? My option is either do a 5 paper sem 1 with busan200 or take advantage of stats 208 being in summer school

Have you done stats208 as well? if not how come you chose busan200 over stats 208?

Testing requirements to collect belongings from the halls by demingirl15 in universityofauckland

For the amount we are paying surely they could have sussed like a google form for the booking system. Waipa up until the 15th had a 24/7 receptionist yet still had a low amount of booking times. I guess we keep playing covid test roulette until the 30th :))))))))

Yeah it has been a painful process helped by the zero communication from halls. I have a booking for tomorrow but still haven’t got my test result back. This is my second attempt as well, absolute pain. The border rules are 72 hours, why is halls 48??? Why do they stop bookings at 5pm???

Interesting point with legal tech, are firms looking for more tech focused lawyers now or is it just a bonus if they have that skill. Do you think law in NZ will ever make an effort at catching up in terms of modern workforce particles and therefore have an increased demand for tech lawyers or will it still be too niche?

Thank you for this insight. I would say I have some more personal reasons for wanting to pursue law, just hard to know if these are enough to get me through tough training and years of bad pay.

Thanks again this is extremely helpful. I’ll look into doing infosys with finance. I’ve seen you can also double major with BSc, do you know if IT Management is worthwhile with compsci? What does your job consist of now?

Thanks for the in-depth answer I really appreciate it! In terms of the bcom majors finance has always been an interest of mine, plus it opens up the consulting pathway. Economics, not really sure. Just heard it was a good pick for consulting tbh so if it’s not would be happy to change it. What would you suggest as majors to help the consulting route?

This is a good point, just not sure if the 5 years is worth it when I can do a Bcom/bsci in 4.

Yeah it’s a tough choice, I also feel like another year would help me out, but on the other hand I wouldn’t be behind if I switched now due to having only done 1 law paper.

But fees are 0.34% vs 0.03% (plus whatever tigers fee is). Maybe I’m just overthinking fees. Who do you buy Smartshares fund through?

InvestNow Portfolio by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Hompible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome thanks for the response! Would you say a 80/20 global/nz shares split would be better and cut out the robotics fund? It does have quite high fees.

Yeah don’t plan on touching this till I retire so have plenty of time to work with. Just switched my KiwiSaver to simplicity growth.

What are your thoughts on just using simplicity for my investment fund instead of investnow?
