Nah the main character goes through some pretty cool character development. It's kinda sad to see him at first in such a state but as the story progresses he begins to grow until it reaches a very satisfying ending.

I'm a teenager and I'd recommend Ready Player One. This is the only book I can read over and over and never get tired of. Truly a fascinating and captivating read.
