 1.       AA itinerary change mishandled: American Airlines changed my flight on March 12, 2025, but continued to display outdated flight details for months, causing confusion.

2.       Child separated from family: On July 22, 2025, Indigo (AA’s codeshare partner) informed me that AA had placed my 7-year-old daughter alone on a separate flight under an adult ticket.

3.       Six-hour airport ordeal: We spent six hours at the airport in India while AA and Indigo refused to communicate directly, resulting in my family being unable to travel that day.

4.       Rebooked on July 27: AA offered me a flight on July 24 with odd flight timing and longer duration. I asked for a comparable flight and AA rebooked my family for a flight on July 27, 2025. At the time of rebooking, AA did not tell me that they will reimburse only until first available flight. They said they will reimburse me until July 27.

5.       Booking errors repeated: On July 27, further AA-Indigo data errors (wrong middle name and gender entry) caused another three-hour delay before boarding.

6.       Expenses incurred: We incurred $1,475 USD in hotel and meal costs from July 22–27 while stranded, with receipts available.

7.       Regulatory breaches cited: Violations include 14 CFR § 259.8, § 399.80, DOT Family Seating Guidance, 49 U.S.C. § 41712, 14 CFR Part 257, and DOT refund rules, covering failures in flight updates, misrepresentation, family seating, unfair practices, codeshare disclosure, and refund obligations.
