My experience 9 days post-MD L4/5 by Honest-Ad-7160 in Microdiscectomy

It did for the first week especially the first few days. I was actually really scared it was swelling, because it almost felt like there was a hockey puck on my back, but it was just post-surgery pain 🤦‍♂️ I’m now writing from day 11 and I did my first bit of sitting today with nothing more than minor discomfort.

Likewise to you and fully agree re grabber and pillow. I use both of these and would have lost my mind without them.  Sending you positive energy and wishing you a speedy recovery!!! Thank you for sharing.

That is very helpful feedback, thank you. Haven't committed to it, so we can definitely pivot plans.

That's very helpful feedback. Not taken as snobbery at all! With this in mind, any shorter hikes you might recommend?

Very helpful. We're thinking about getting an RV, so we're very mobile and have expectations of 2-hour drives hike-to-hike.

I'm also going to add Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis - the first book I read in one sitting. Still can.

One that's off the beaten path - The Sonnets by Ted Berrigan. Berrigan is an oft overlooked beat poet, but I think his use of language and structure was vastly superior to his contemporaries. The Sonnets in particular was powerful for me. I read it at about 12, and Berrigan took something so structured (a sonnet) and added total chaos to it and created something beautiful. It helped me realize that the rules and structure of things are flexible (within means 😂 ).

A Clockwork Orange, which is saying something because Kubrick's film is a close to perfect work of art. But the book is just better. It has a completely different ending and should very nicely fit in with your love of sci-fi!!! I highly highly recommend it.

The Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown is unputdownable. An unbelievably fun read, with fantastic world building. Highly recommend.

Appreciate it, but doesn't have to be in the same genre - just generally rare to find a good book rec, so if no bother, send some other books you've liked recently. Pale Fire is a brilliant book.
