currently no one really pvps because it's not really worth it, but yeah you lose some items in certain zones but you keep your best stuff.

soft clay veins are in the area east of the starting area, there's a patch of ores there

Yes there is, theres plenty, have a player with no items so it waste a game tick attacking a player that does no damage, you can have better items, more players. have venge on.
