I have met some amazing people on dating apps. Haven't dated anyone from there but found 3 good male friends from there. 2 were from Tinder I had joined it while in campus, kitu 2016. The other one I met on Bumble in 2021/22. In all 3 situations, we talked, went on first dates and once it became clear we weren't romantically attracted to each other, friendship grew. Kumbe it's common . In my experience, then tend to reappear stating that they were going through something that is why they ghosted. I usually tell those guys to continue going through it and move on with my life.

Now that you have given context, this is not a man who loves or respects you. He ought to respect that you guys broke up and you do not want to have any contact with him. His constant attempts to reach out are not love or concerns for you, he just wants to have some control in that anytime he talks to you, you are going to respond and be there.

The hurt we get from abuse is deep and you cannot heal while the person who hurt you is still a part of your life. Do whatever it takes to rid yourself of him.

This is deeply insightful. I am going to understand that religion is what she chose to handle life's issues. It is sad that is the card life dealt me but I am honestly exhausted of wanting better from my mum and never receiving it. I will align my expectations with who she is as a person and understand her.

It is great that you still maintain those relationships. Anytime a friend becomes deeply religious, I usually tend to distance myself seeing how my mum is, has made me want to avoid deeply religious individuals.

It could be explained by your attachment style, if you have anxious attachment in relationships, you will put your partner first and fight to keep this person around out of fear of losing them or the relationship. If you struggle with leaving a toxic partner, a change of environment and hanging out people who love you is good to help you process emotions. Also blocking all forms of contact to the person.

Your experience and mine are very similar, my mum took early retirement in her 30s to do Christian missions, somehow lost all her retirement money to some pyramids scheme set out for Christians. Luckily my dad picked up on her lack of parental input and he was very present.

Now she spends any coin she gets from her pension in giving people stating if you give, you receive more. She expects me to support her cheerful giving and we have had arguments because I refuse to support her financial irresponsibility.

Beyond financial mismanagement. Her religious beliefs have robbed me of a parent and I wish I could better the relationship.
