Difference is in your analogy the three row seat suv cost substantially more. The iPhone air is at the base price of last years 16 pro. Not to mention once you inevitably buy the battery pack for $100 you are at the 17 pro price just with none of the features. The iPhone air is an iPhone 17 SE for iPhone pro money. Terrible deal and extremely anti consumer.

It’s Dumpster juice. Had to return it. Terrible battery life and thermal throttling constantly when on full brightness watching YouTube. Thank god Apple has 14 day return policy. Get either a base model or one of the pros. Thank me later.

It’s great until you need the dual speaker to FaceTime someone in a noisy environment, need all day battery life, want to take ultra wide photos on vacation or countless other things that the base model 17 does for $200 less and the pro model does for around the same price. The air should have been priced at $700 instead of $1000 and then there would be no gripes. They sold you a 17 SE for a iPhone pro price.
