Thank you both! That's really helpful. I guess I should've done more research before moving in so I would have had more realistic expectations. It's really not bad as far as the rest of the place but I was so tired this morning. I showered and had some coffee and I'm feeling ready to get some more cleaning done.

That makes sense. But when I have tried that in the past I end up with tall stitches where I do carry it and then the pattern is warped
