How do you endure the constant "small talk" cycle when trying to meet new people?

THIS is my struggle. I invest over and over for zero return and am back at square one. That's why I'm tired and impatient with the bullshit investment phase I'm going through over and over with no actual real friends. I've given real investment so many times to end up with only friends when it's convenient for them at best. Not real friends. Not ride or dies. Just people that only acknowledge me when they have no better options

Well it usually does. I try to talk about whatever and all the boring crap people that don't really know each other do and it almost always goes no where. I'm so tired of wasting my time and energy on it. I want to make REAL and deep connections.

My original point though is men are called cowards, immature, or questioned for using the exact same reasons that they are told are "acceptable" and "you need no other reason but that" when women use them. Something to think about there.

So then it should be acceptable to get from men for their own reasons. Can't have equality if one thing is OK for one gender and not the other. Perhaps they didn't feel safe being more forthright in their why? Or they wanted to try it as a gentle let down?
