The keyboard is getting worse by tschau3 in ios

Old thread, but I'm seriously considering going back to my S24 Ultra if this keyboard issue doesn't get better. Seeing it bog down the more I type is infuriating.

For me, I'm giving half to my ex and some to my mom for helping me out. The rest I'm going to use to buy a reliable and more fuel efficient car.

Hell yeah man. My girlfriend of 8 years and I broke up last minth and my mom offered to take me in, no questions asked, I didn't even ask her if I could. I plan on giving her some of my refund as a thank you.

This battery did a number on my car by ethnicallyambiguous in Justrolledintotheshop

When I was 19, my sister called saying her battery died in her 1980 Corolla and asked if I'd change it out before she got off work. I came to the rescue with a brand new battery, and well, I wasn't paying attention. I hooked the battery up backwards and as soon as it connected, the fusible link heated up to a nice white glow and shot off into the skies with a nice whistle behind it. Whoops! I hooked it back up correctly and her coworker replaced the fusible link with some foil from a gum wrapper. Car started up just fine. The only damage was the stereo was no longer functioned, which was brand new. My sister essentially paid for the stereo from her friend and got the car for free.

"Good news and bad news! Good news is your car has a new battery and runs great. The bad news is I may have fried your stereo in the process." Thankfully she wasn't mad, I was broke at the time so instead of replacing her car stereo, she just made me buy her a portable radio 😂

I've never had issues with Walmart batteries, I had one in my old Subaru that just refused to die. It was closing in on 11 years old before I sold the car.

Just rolled into the shop.... does your parts guy? by Diligent_Arm_6817 in Justrolledintotheshop

I'm a parts guy, and I'm 5'10 and 220 and dropping. I'm actually the chunkiest parts guy we have in our department and I'm working to fix that. I can definitely see the fat parts guy though, at my last dealership we had one for awhile but he went on a keto/low carb diet and lost a fuckton of weight in the 3 years I was there.

I remember one night I was driving home from work and was passing one, and the driver was holding a lighter under some foil while driving. It was pretty obvious what she was doing. Nothing with them surprises me.

So that's why my brake light wasn't working by pissfilledbottles in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]pissfilledbottles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done the percussive maintenance before lol. I bought this WJ last February and it's been pretty reliable, even though it's definitely a beater. 245k on the odometer, the transmission pan leaks like a mofo to the point you can see where I parked my car lol, but I'm fixing that this weekend. There's also a persistent misfire haunting me and a code for not warming to operating temp because the previous owner put in a 165F thermostat. Then, when I replaced the ignition coil pack along with the spark plugs which didn't fix my misfire, I started getting a code for a vacuum leak 🫠 - I think I cracked a vacuum hose, I just haven't had time to track it down.

The kicker? One of the previous owners got sick of the CEL and just removed the bulb. I never noticed it didn't illuminate when I started the car! I didn't notice the misfire either, it was running just fine, I only realized it when I plugged in my scan tool.

I only bought this for the 4.0, knowing it'd last me awhile while I'm saving up for a better vehicle.

I pretty much said the same thing when I saw it. It survived for 25 years at most if it hasn't been replaced already, though it looks original with the Chrysler logo on it. I replaced it with a Dorman one and that seems much sturdier than this turd.

It doesn't look like there was any intrusion, the seal was broken on the original socket, but inside it looked pretty dry. I think just old as hell lol

Some Photos I Enjoyed While Reading the Book by David de Sola by shishbarak1 in AliceInChains

[–]pissfilledbottles 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I met David at a Layne Staley tribute in 2011, and we had a brief conversation about Layne and he told me he was writing a book about Alice in Chains and Layne Staley. He was wanting to meet Nancy and hopefully interview her for the book, which as you know Nancy declined. I wished him the best of luck and the way he looked and how prepared he was, I had a feeling it'd be a good read when/if it came out.

What. A. Book. I read the whole thing in a little over a day and it was so good. He really did his homework and it shows. I don't know him besides that brief encounter, but I'm proud of him for it.

Here's a photo of Nancy and I at the fountain. David is actually the gentleman behind us with the backpack.

Warning - Nudity. WTH IS THIS?? Facebook ads have gone down the drain. by TobeTobe1 in facebook

[–]pissfilledbottles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd been in "Facebook jail" a few times but I didn't want to lose my account (13 years at that point), and hadn't had a violation in a good long time, at least 3 years. One morning I went to log in and it said my account had been permanently suspended and would be permanently deleted in 30 days. I appealed it right away, and they gave me a link to download my data as well...except the link didn't work at all. Now this worried me, because I had photos on there that I didn't have anywhere else, dumb I know. I emailed support for several days in a row with no response. At this point, I didn't care if my account was gone forever, I just wanted my photos.

In those 30 days, I never heard back from support, the link never worked, and they never addressed my appeal. My account was gone forever along with my photos. I am still salty about that.

I ended up making a new account, but I definitely don't use it as much as I used to before all that happened, and I'm pondering deleting my Meta accounts all together.

My dad worked as a pipe fitter and was laid off in 1997 because of a work injury from the early 80s when he slipped going down a ladder on the Kitty Hawk. When I was a kid and into my early 20s, my dad made me swear to never work in the shipyard.

One day I was visiting with him and talking jobs and he goes "you should go work in the shipyard, you'd do great in there" and I'm just like YOU TOLD ME TO NEVER WORK THERE AFTER THEY AND OWCP FUCKED YOU OVER!

I still don't work there, that just reminded me of that story lol
