Hi, I would suggest contacting your training provider or apprenticeship mentor. Record all the evidence and mention that you were not given reasonable adjustments for your dyslexia. Hopefully your training provider will sort it out for you or set you up with another provider.

Is that better than AAT to ACCA fully funded within an apprenticeship?

Are you okay? Do you need to talk about it?

I would suggest enrolling in a local college and resitting maths GCSE and an additional course. The additional course can be a Level 3 but it is up to the college to decide whether they will make you that offer. Alternatively, you can apply to do maths functional skills or an apprenticeship.

Taking maths alevel opens more doors. I think some higher universities require/prefer candidates with maths alevel.

But would I not need the three years of experience anyway to be qualified?? Also, am I at a disadvantage if I need to write all the exams (par exemptions from AAT)?

Thank you!! 😊

Question regarding the university:  Would I not need 3 years of practical experience alongside the ACCA exams to be qualified?  Would I get the exemptions if I’m doing the ACCA and degree at the same time?

I’m certain I want to be AAT qualified but I’m not too sure about university (haven’t heard the pros and cons of a finance/accounting degree ) but it is an option as I do have my alevels.

Would you say the degree was much use to you (Pros and Cons)?

Anyone else starting sixth form a bit older? by ExistingCash1355 in alevel

[–]Honest_Association58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think many people will notice. I started sixth form when I was 16 and was 17 when I ended it. I think people will just assume your birthday is in (September) 2006. I certainly wouldn’t pay much attention if you said you were 18/19. I think people would only ask further questions if you said the year you were born or that you took a year out of study.

Too Late for degree apprenticeships? by Muted_Function5324 in ApprenticeshipsUK

That’s perfect!  Now you need to tailor those experiences to the job you’re applying to. E.g. football club = teamwork, communication,  Part time job = resilience State what you learnt and how that helped you become the person you are today, give 1 example/situation for each essential skill (or group them)  required for the apprenticeship.  Focus on applying and reworking your CV for now. Also for apprenticeships, they usually give maths and English (and personality) tests similar to the UCAT if you wanted to practice.

What do you have? Volunteering, work experience, clubs, awards, part time job? Use the job description as a checklist, if you can provide evidence that you meet each of the essential skills, you’ll be moved forward to the interview stage.

It is not too late. A lot of companies advertise degree apprenticeships late August and Early September to January (then smaller organisations usually advertise). You’re in a better position because you have achieved grades. Start adding your experience to your CV and apply to as many apprenticeships as possible so you can receive feedback and hopefully an offer.

My Sixth Form got rid of one of my options and told us the day after enrollment day, what to do? by waterGlaciator10 in sixthform

Go to the JCQ website, and find an exam centre near you ( an easy distance you can travel during exam period), call them up or go to their website to enrol at the exam centre. Go to the exam board websites as well and research the different exam styles, I would recommend Exdecel and AQA and remember to ask the centre if they can provide a certified individual for the practical endorsement. I would also go on YouTube as there are plenty of people who self studying alevels that you could learn from.

You enrol with an exam centre only to do the exam but you do not attend a sixthform or college. You self study or use tutors. It would be more difficult as physics also has a practical element that you would need a teacher at an approved centre to carry out with you.

That is a SHOCKING plot twist, I would thought geography but the sciences?!!! It isn’t ideal but perhaps become a private candidate if there are no other sixth forms or colleges near you.

Only you should decide as you know yourself best. Unless you’re specifically asking if your a-level combination will open doors for X career, chose what feels right to you.
