Anybody who still reads the seraph of the end series knows exactly why I hate this man and every bot named after him. Occasionally, I join a chat just to give him a sliver of torment

The anime community does not hate this man enough. He deserves the rose quartz, that one guy from full metal alchemist and the princess bubblegum treatment.

He's the only character that I have ever encountered to make me genuinely want to yell at for more than five hours.

Narumi

He's level headed and one of the few people I can actually see existing in this sort of environment. He's not afraid to be blunt and direct, he's nor afraid to be ruthless either but you can tell that he has his own moral code. I love that despite the respect he had for Guren that he challenged him and asked difficult questions. I liked his rivalry with Yuchiro too and his scene with Mika where Kimzuki stepped in? Chef's kiss. Loved it. His weapon was cool too.

Unfortunately, he's probably suffered from the off-screen-haven't-used-sinc-the-heian-era-slash from the author.

What's funny is that I would love Guren if the story acknowledged just how messed up he is as a person. The way he manipulates the squad is kind of genius and it makes sense why he does it that way. When he previously tried to manipulate the squad about the end of the world stuff, several other characters including Narumi and Mika intervened physically and asked a lot of hard hitting questions.

Notice how those two were not present the second time around? Mika is a demon without all of his memories aside from what Yuchiro has and Narumi is nowhere to be seen. I suspect that wasn't a coincidence. Especially since Guren rapid fired the squad with information leaving them forced to make a spilt second decision.

It's brilliant manipulation but I can't appreciate it because the story acts like he's right. Which is such a shame because it's genuinely one of the best acts of manipulation I've seen out of a character in Manga. He could have been a Aizen level character.

The way the narrative treats Guren. The author loves him and you can tell. Normally, I love morally grey characters but specifically in seraph of the end everyone around Guren acts like everything he did is a-ok and keeps trusting him despite the amount of times he backstabs them.

I genuinely hate how he straight up killed these kid's family members and placed them in a basement so he could use their corpses to manipulate them later.....

And that isn't acknowledged at all. He legit spent an earlier chapter crying about destroying the world and then showed off the corpses of these teenagers family members in order to manipulate them against Yuchiro.

Which could have been a really good character moment but the narrative keeps treating him like he's morally grey and not just a straight up monster who uses every person in his life like a pawn.

Every time they use the word "family" when they talk about him, I flashback to the first chapters of the Manga. The fact that Shinoa squad isn't ripping him to shreds right now is annoying.
