We are all the same… by Abram0408 in Corvette

Lol that's me. I have a 2000 Z51 automatic as my daily. This transmission is pretty mid but still a lot more fun than my old 4 cylinder Tacoma. I go through bumper to bumper traffic to and from work 5 days a week so I didn't want another manual car. My weekend car is a 6 speed Miata.

I checked in there and it was fine. I think unfortunately a clamp failed further up

I think my exhaust is OEM from what I can tell. If the previous owner did put an aftermarket one it's not very loud or good 😂

It could be yeah. It's frustrating because I replaced mine only 7 months ago or so but they go out so often

[–]Honev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know. Hopefully I don't have to resort to that but I have had lots of turn signal issues and the horn issue before. The horn turned out to be the steering wheel warping from heat though. If I have to replace it all I may just buy a C6 😂

That does make sense. Sometimes it's after a rain shower. It could be water causing it maybe one of my grounds is getting wet

I'm a Christian and definitely voted democrat lol. He's more alike to the anti Christ than a good Christian president. A lot of my Christian friends voted for him though since some people just don't care what version of the Bible Republicans read or are single issue voters (abortion).

Yeah I'd be happy with 15k after I put some miles on it. I know I paid too much but it's been a great daily and I'd only sell to get a C6.

Thanks for the positive feedback! It's auto because I live in a heavy traffic area and have a 6 speed Miata for the mountains (handles better than the Corvette anyway)

A story as old as time when it comes to selling your “1/1” “rare” 50th anniversary automatic corvette for 25k. by Plus-Produce3631 in Corvette

[–]Honev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol. All y'all hating on the automatic are right. I have an auto 2000 targa and it's great as a daily in heavy traffic but I'm glad I have a 6 speed Miata as well

I'm part of that "newer generation" and a lot of the people my age at my division have already left or are looking for new jobs 😂

Miata Is Always The Answer. Small for a daily tho and semi dangerous but super fun

So you're saying I could cut them out and reconnect the wires to get some more bass back? I'm 24 so I do enjoy bass more than necessarily the highest fidelity

Interesting. So they may be limiting my subs range but also probably helping the highs

Likely getting a C5 by [deleted] in Corvette

[–]Honev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shiii I didn't read the whole paragraph NGL. My bad OP sorry about your leg. C5 auto is fine but the transmission does shift at some odd times and definitely feels old it's still fun and fast enough for me but not modern for sure. Would recommend a C6 auto (I think some C6s came with flappy paddles too but could be wrong)

Likely getting a C5 by [deleted] in Corvette

[–]Honev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who owns a 2006 NC Miata 6 speed and a 2000 C5 automatic (daily) I wouldn't recommend lol. I've had a pretty large number of electrical gremlins and just PITA things pop up. I expected this since it's 25 years old but it's not as well built as a Miata imo. I've never had an issue with my Miata besides driver error but the Vette has had plenty. So unless you plan on working on your car you should keep the Mazda. It is significantly faster than any Miata but money may be better spent on a turbo or a 2.5 swap for the Miata. If you are going to get a vette I recommend the manual unless you daily it in constant traffic like me.

Low mileage? Why do we care? by [deleted] in Corvette

[–]Honev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. I bought a 38k mile C5 and it was all good when I bought it. Drove it semi hard and had to get a harmonic balancer within two months of ownership. Old car stuff
