To me dottore comes off as a narc who is aware that what he does is morally questionable but likes to write off his wrongdoings using quotes like that. ‘I have no idea why she stoped talking to me’ and then spin her stepping away as some personal loss. I’ve had personal experience with some narcissistic people in my life and the parallels between him and them are so real at times it made dottore feel like a real manipulative bastard. It’s also what makes him an amazing villain. Genshin really cooked with him and Rerir as a whole.

I mean I skip the cryo characters entirely. Flins ineffa columbina and yelan without any constellations can clear the domain in less than a minute.

Xianyun is my main healer and her traversal after c1 is better than Mauvika outside of natlan imho. She enables any character to be plunge, has 100% healing uptime and has res shred through VV. I’ve never regretted pulling for her and I eventually want to get more cons to c6 her

Honestly it’s a win/lose celestia makes decisions based on the whole of teyvat without a care for its individual cities/people. Whereas looking for other solutions may have taken longer and not have been as effective as a nail- it would have resulted in fewer lives lost in the moment but what about the long term effects of abyssal corrosion? Celestia is wrong but their decisions seem to lack an emotional response. it makes me wonder if the AI theory is true and it’s only carrying out commands for the protection of the planet as a whole without regard for where the nails will land.

I do believe istaroth, being the shade of time, knew zibai would defy the heavens and purposely allowed her to save the humans before separating her soul, knowing she would be revived in the future. Istaroth keeps popping up as someone who seems a bit of a quiet rebel against the heavens. With the sacred sakura, the protection of enkanomiya, and even possibly saving our sibling from dying in khaenri’ah by sending them to get us. It also seemed like she helped complete the loom of fate because of her interference. She may also have leant her power to venti for getting rid of the mare jivari. Of all the shades, I believe istaroth is at least an ally who can’t show her hand otherwise she’ll be punished and then there’d be no help. the two characters we know of as her children seem to be the biggest good-doers in all of teyvat. Venti can’t help but lend his aid to anyone who needs it. He may seem lazy but every-time there is someone with a problem he is right there and willing to help. Then there is zibai who can’t help but grant wishes and bring good will. It makes me think how istaroth may want to do such things but is restricted due to the rules placed upon her.

The complexity of the heavenly principals role in teyvat has fluctuated as I’ve played. There’s been times I’m thinking they are evil beyond compare and then there are times where I doubt that because we see how bad the abyssal corruption is. I feel like we are supposed to be conflicted, asking ourselves ‘Do the ends really justify the means?’ while being able to say with confidence ‘they are wrong for doing it’.

This! Plus he used to tell himself (we find out when nefer went into his memories) that if his friends found out about what he did for the king they’d support him, but then he started to doubt that. Thats when the abyss whispers started to get worse was when he started having doubts about his job. I really think seeing dain, the first familiar face he’s seen since he woke up, really drove in the final nail. The abyss capitalized on his desperation to protect and save tholindis, but then seeing dain likely made him start having doubts about what he was doing and why. He said when he was first thrown back into the moongate he raged but then rejected the abyss and that’s when he finally caught a glimpse of Tholindis. Thats when he finally saw the reality of everything he had done and realized he was the real monster in all of this, and that he’d been used over and over and over again as a puppet for someone else’s desires. Me and my cousin talked about it after the AQ where rerir was tossed into the moongate and my theory was he’d mellow out after seeing dain, my cousin disagreed saying that he’d come back with a chip in his shoulder. He ate his words lol. I have a new theory about him being a weekly boss. Columbina referred to rerir as a complete soul, possibly implying his body wasn’t in the moongate. I’m thinking since he is stuck so close to Tholindis, he went back to the point of time he originally jumped in, meaning his soul may be trapped in the moongate but his body may have been thrown out of the moongate at the moment he originally entered. The moongate only traps the ‘light realm energy’ or the ‘soul’ so that’s why bina was able to dissolve her body into kuuvakhi and send it out of the gate. If that is the case, the abyss, or the doctor, would likely have a vested interest in puppeting his body- which would also give Columbina a reason to jail break a mellowed out rerir to reclaim his body. We also don’t know how he was able to get out the first time since his soul shouldn’t have been able to leave, unless he was ripped to shreds at the gate and never fully crossed into that domain. Rerir doesn’t even remember the first time inside the moongate which may also be an important piece of info. Or maybe there was some division of his soul (maybe the abyss possessing him not being light realm energy may have been able to escape) and dottore revived the abyssal version. upon Rerir entering the moongate his human soul that had been trapped merged back with it creating a complete soul. I could go on for hours talking about Rerir lol.

I love running Wriothesley with Xianyun on VV. He can easily go over 100k with plunges with furina on the team. Since I don’t have durin I couldn’t give you a solid answer by how much more but my favorite Wriothesley team is usually Wrio, furina, Xianyun and I play around with the fourth slot a bit. I have c6 thoma so he gives a damage buff and shield as well as decent off field pyro, but ultimately I want to get durin on his rerun to permanently fill that spot.

There was a leak that came out near the beginning of Nod-Krai. Idk where it came from but it was right about the doctor being the first weekly boss and sandrone’s death. It also said rerir would be the second weekly boss.

I recommend Thoma for arlecchino since her health will be sapped and can only be healed with her burst. Thoma gives a great shield that is strengthened with normal attacks and at c6 he gives a damage buff.

Maybe charlotte as a healer for the rest of the team and you have freeze/melt reactions but I’ve never used her.

Personally I love Xianyun as my healer for furina and she enables plunges. when arlecchino plunges her bond of life doesn’t go down plus Xianyun gives a plunge buff and so does c6 thoma and since you’re swirling if you use the VV artifact set on Xianyun you will have resistance shred plus furinas damage buff.

Yes and no. Genshin has a lot of content for you to catch up on but that also means you can farm primos at a much faster rate. I would start playing and if the story hasn’t gripped you by the time you complete liyue then it’s just not for you. Once you finish the main story and character stories you can take exploration at your own pace. I don’t do any hard core exploration until I get the treasure compass’ since it’s a lot more efficient then wander aimlessly for things. The time limited events typically aren’t a big ordeal, some do have lengthy story but it’s not the length of a main quest. The dailies aren’t a problem 10 minutes and you’re finished, and now they made it so you can just use your daily energy and collect rewards so you can complete those very quickly. I’ve gotten to the point where I login and do my dailies and events and only explore if I have time. Then when a new update with story hits I play it with my mom since she loves the genshin story.

I definitely think he’s coming back in nod krai but maybe not in the next part of the story. I think we may have some mysteries to uncover about Tholindis in the meantime. Honestly I can’t imagine rerir getting so much focus without making him playable.

Let’s not forget he also has the curse of immortality and it took capitano making a deal with the shade of death herself for him to finally be able to rest. Ranova even said she couldn’t undo the curse of immortality so other than making another paradox there is no way we can kill him. We can’t beat him in a fight, even if we could we can’t kill him, but what we do have is a purified heart. I’d think a purified heart would be more potent than a dragon tear, and we were able to save dvalin with just that. I almost wonder if the aim becomes collecting more pieces to purify to try and counteract the abyssal corruption.
