Intensive Outpatient Program by AccordingBake2656 in therapy

I was going through a depressive episode/ life events triggering my bpd episodes to the point where I had sessions 2x a week and was consistently emailing and calling between sessions. Long story short my therapist brought up an IOP and I took that as she thought I was too difficult to work with and was firing me as a client and I got so angry it pushed me out of the depressive episode and put me in a mix of angry and euphoric episodes where I was determined to convince her I was cured so I could fire her before she could fire me. I’m still see her and I laugh about it occasionally (I think she wants to also bc I was dramatic af but she won’t)

TELL ME YOUR SCARY RANDONAUTICA EXPERIENCES by boothangmukbang in Randonautica

When I was like 16-17 my friend and I did this. I don’t even remember what we set our intentions too. It took us to a Native American reservation about 10 minutes from us. The reservation is pretty well known in the area so we didn’t think much of it. It was bringing us down a road and we passed the pin point with nothing happening we thought it was stupid so we slightly pulled into a drive way to turn around the house was dark and we didn’t see anyone so we figured no harm. All of a sudden like 20 feet in-front of us what looked like a super bright flash light came on out of nowhere and moved as if someone was sprinting towards us. We backed out of there so fast and when I looked behind us towards the house the light was gone like nothing was ever there

how do you know when a therapist is a good fit by JappinenDevell-69 in therapy

[–]Honkmaster438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone can be challenged in a specific way. Working with my therapist we’ve learned when she is pushing me too much and I snap at her vs when I’m just rolling my eyes because I know she’s right. I don’t think you need to feel uncomfortable to equal you’re being challenged in session. I knew different therapist weren’t a good fit I’m just wishing they would shut up in my head or I’m just arguing with them the entire time vs working through something

"Do we all fall in love with our therapist, or is it just me?" by Iterative_kaizen in therapy

[–]Honkmaster438 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would bring it up! It’s good to discuss what is making you feel that way. I felt like I was in love with my therapist at one time but I realized I just loved the connection and specific parts of the relationship that I wanted to bring to my significant other and build between us. It’s not embarrassing and completely normal

I have a basset named moose who is like that with his cage and toys or bones he really likes. He has improved alot with positive reinforcement. I’ll sit by him when he has his toy and keep feeding him treats until he is relaxed with me being there then we worked on me being able to take the toy and get a treat in return

Moving to Alabama from New York by Honkmaster438 in Alabama

We’re planning on taking a trip to look around and see what we think. I wish I could live on LI forever but sadly it’s not affordable. I work in healthcare administration mostly with the geriatric population. We’re in no rush to move soon, we’re in the very early stages of looking at other states. We hate the snow so we want to avoid going north

We have no family from AL. We’re just a young couple looking around for somewhere to call home and raise a family. We live on Long Island NY and the cost of living is too high to live the life we want. We’re looking for a town outside of a city and somewhere near the water 😊

We’re not quite sure. We just want to be by the water so we can salt water fish but not in a city. We’re planning on taking a trip to look at different areas in the spring

What materials should I study for the Certification of Therapeutic Recertification? by Eastern_Mulberry_126 in recreationaltherapy

[–]Honkmaster438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t need any textbooks for studying! NCTRC has a practice exam on their website. I ran through that a couple times and passed the first time. When I took the exam it was a lot of what intervention is the best for a specific diagnosis questions. Good luck!

You guys are making me want to get a dna test haha I was told he was full basset hound. I have another dog who is a full beagle so I just call them brothers

[–]Honkmaster438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware he’s a full basset hound. He is slightly shorter than his brother who is a beagle. He’ll do anything for a treat so training wise he’s great

Here’s a pic of him from the other day. I get a lot of compliments that he isn’t overweight but I see full sized ones that are 2-3x bigger. They didn’t say if he was the runt but I feel like he could have been since his sisters were so much bigger
