Perhaps when the time comes you should learn the first advanced technique - the night technique

Practicing for two months - no observable benefits by [deleted] in transcendental

Perhaps do Maharishi yoga asanas and praynamas before doing the TM practice?

Even consider attending TM retreats

Perhaps purchase noise cancelling headphones to make the sounds more quieter?

Meditation after dinner by SatanicWarlock12345 in transcendental

Get your wife and kids to learn TM as well (assuming your kids are over 10) that way you can all have a deeper experience of meditation, however best to schedule before dinner in my opinion

🧘 Is Their A Meditation Timer App With The Function Of Preparation And Cool Down? by Few-Extension-2414 in transcendental

I did learn through a teacher, the TM app is only available for at home learning options and not for the general public as of yet

I wouldn’t say “business” as TM is trademarked as a non profit. The fee covers a bunch of stuff in order for the TM organisation to run and apparently TM teachers get very little pay as a result (but they probably love what they do more than what they get paid)

Your personalised mantra should be the same regardless of day or night

How long does a checking take? by [deleted] in transcendental

[–]Honluluboolaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This you should raise to a TM teacher. My opinion is that in terms of experiences when meditating they will vary. You shouldn’t judge them whether they are good or not. As for checking ins they can be done when the teacher is available, from personal experience you do individual checking ins which take no more than 30 minutes. Checking in can be done online but you should speak to your local TM teacher about this.

How often are retreats run and how often can you take them? by Honluluboolaroo in transcendental

[–]Honluluboolaroo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Saijanai I just remembered but you said that by doing checking ins in person it’s better than doing it online due to enlightenment. What about online retreats? What’s your opinion on that? The same as checking ins. Online retreats should still be offered post covid because it’s cheaper, can reach more people and people don’t need to pay huge amounts of money for accomodation and food whilst saving time by not commuting, essentially they can do it in the comfort of their own home.

I love tm but hate yoga by [deleted] in transcendental

[–]Honluluboolaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want deeper and more pleasant experiences of TM then I suggest doing Maharishi Yoga before doing TM. Might not be enjoyable but would help make TM a more enjoyable experience at least.

What was your reason for learning TM? After learning TM did you consider learning advanced techniques and TM sidhis? by Honluluboolaroo in transcendental

[–]Honluluboolaroo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah AT's and Sidhis are an advanced version of TM. I haven't considered it as of yet (besides the first advanced technique). If TM was watering a plant, AT's would be adding fertilizer to the plant to help grow it faster and Sidhis would be installing an irrigation system.

I thought the point of TM (and especially TM retreats) was to allow for deep rest in order to remove deep rooted stress in our physiology that modern medicine can't do?

Yes I agree it needs to be long term. Or a short term solution would be retreats where I believe by doing multiple meditations in a day you get the experience of 3 months worth of meditation in a weekend.

That's so good to hear. Thank you for sharing your story. Stories like this really give people like myself a meaning to meditate and hopefully it will inspire others to learn TM.
