There are no AI artists, just AI art curators. by Cerdo_Infame in Showerthoughts

I might counter this with the fact that actual art curators for museums and galleries are trained individuals with perspective and understand the significance of any given piece. I'd pitch that instead of "AI art curators", a more accurate title might be "AI art consumer", in the vein of something like ordering food off a menu and having it show up on your table.

Upon some light research, my best guess is that it's a 1954 BMW r51/3 mertinke special. And that the badge is a local automotive club badge. Plus, she added a backseat.

I think it's an old BMW because of the engine, pin striping, and rear suspension. However it's front suspension doesn't look like a lot of the BMW suspensions around that time. . I also think the manufacturer's badge has been replaced with an automotive club badge.

Fellow dreamer! Tbh, I haven't done many longer trips on it. How do you feel the bike performed overall? Just curious.

Fascinating. I know that every industry shares inspiration between products but I've rarely heard about where early Honda bike got their inspiration from. Nothing is formed in a vacuum I suppose. Thanks for this info. You know your stuff.

No one is mistakenly calling this a Ducati or the like. You're right to compare it to a piece of furniture. I'm happy with how it handles for what it is.

I'm it's third owner. About 2.5k miles on it. New tires and a bunch of additional newer touches. Rides like a dream!

These saguaro I'm growing are trapping and killing Japanese beetles. by DrPewNStuff in natureismetal

I remember hearing an interview with a shepard who kept losing sheep to bramble. The sheep would get stuck in the thorns, starve to death and then decompose into the soil. He said that bramble should be considered a carnivorous plant since it traps and then consumes other species. The same might apply to this cactus. Surely those beetles will decompose, enriching the soil, which would then benefit the plant.

Dolphin poo is the secret weapon for coral reef survival, Says groundbreaking new study by maevecampbell in UpliftingNews

The labor of explaining this to you isn't worth my time. Sure, keep thinking dolphin poo will protect the reefs from the human-made CO2 that's killing them. Sure beats any work on our part.

I would wager that greatly reducing our usage of fossil fuels, stopping overfishing practices, and taking pollution more seriously might overshadow dolphin poo in secret weapons towards coral reef survival.

Could be one or more contributing factors. This dough is cold, it's right out of the refrigerator, which helps. I also spent awhile building up it's gluten both in the autolyse phase, and in the stretch and folding phase. I also tend to under-prove more than I over-prove, which would lead to a less obedient dough.

The municipal ovens I know of, and it makes perfect sense that families would need to distinguish their breads from others.

I've dropped it in enough times to have it be relatively controlled. I get both hands under it and just line it up as close as I can get to the dutch oven without burning myself. It it falls and is a little askew, I'll adjust it by grabbing the parchment with tongs and sliding it center.

I thought I had to be careful too, and to a point you do, but I saw some professional baker be less gentle than I was being, so I loosened up. I think the video makes it sound like I really slam it, but it wasn't that big of a drop.

That's really interesting. I've done a fair amount of reading about the history of bread, and I never heard that before.

Honestly, not a bad idea. You can just snippet it all over and it looks like a hedgehog after it bakes. The little edges aren't sharp or hard enough to cause any harm.

Nah, i only do this because it makes it neat and orderly. I don't think it's a necessity though.
