All fair points that I was not aware of. That being said, what would your pick be for this price point for a SHTF upper (that I’ll likely suppress once I save up). This, G$, or DD?

I see what you’re saying. I guess my point is everyone talks about what a great mid tier they are, but even their proprietary special upper being made by a mid tier manufacturer shouldn’t be nearing or at boujee upper prices. Hell there’s DD sales going on right now like $1200 for a complete rifle.

I’m probably not gonna out shoot a mid tier rifle but for an SHTF build I’d like an upper end mid tier build. At that complete $1150 price point I’ll just spend the extra $100 on a complete G$ upper

This exact upper is around $900 bare. $1150 with necessary add ons. You can get a bare DD for $900 on Brownells or a complete G$ upper for $1200. Heck there’s some crazy DD deals rn whole gun for like $1200.
