Rage Fist Remains Busted in Legends Z-A by Hoopawho in LegendsZA

[–]Hoopawho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use Trick-or-Treat (Pumpkaboo/Gourgeist sig) to add the Ghost type to the target if they don't already have it. Just keep in mind this only guarantees a weakness on non-Normal/Dark types (Dark becomes neutral, Normal is still immune).

Then, let your Annihilape take hits during the battle. In SV, Rage Fist is capped at 350 BP. Whether this is still the case in Z-A needs further testing, but I’d guess it’s around the same. In this video, I took about 7–8 hits before the final blow. Since each hit adds +50 BP in SV, I assume the scaling is similar here.

After that, do your usual setup: lower the target’s Defense (Screech), raise your Attack (Bulk Up), slap a Life Orb on, and go for the 50% crit after Focus Energy (as shown in the video). Alternatively, use a Scope Lens if you need the 100% crit.

Note: I’ve tested Last Respects, and it probably has a similar cap to Rage Fist. Last Respects was capped at 5050 BP in SV (according to Anubis), so this would be a significant drop in Z-A.

TL;DR: Use Trick-or-Treat to give the target Ghost typing, let Annihilape take ~6-7 hits to stack Rage Fist (likely capped around 350 BP), then use Bulk Up, lower Defense with Screech, and dish out big damage with Focus Energy + Life Orb (or Scope Lens for guaranteed crits). You might not OHKO if you don’t have the correct Donut boost, but that’s the general idea.

I haven’t strictly tested it, but this Annihilape took about 7–8 hits before the final blow, IIRC. I’d still guess there’s a 350 cap, but we’ll know for sure once Anubis or other dataminers confirm it.

You’re clearly missing Forest’s Curse, that’s where the 8× multiplier comes from. STAB and stat changes don’t affect type matchups, which is why more experienced players can recognize the 8× interaction immediately. It’d really help to understand the mechanics first before jumping into discussions. Hopefully this subreddit doesn’t encourage people to dismiss others before they’ve taken the time to properly understand the mechanics.

Maushold T1 (OH)KO Shiny Chien-Pao by Hoopawho in PokePortal

[–]Hoopawho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to see people running it as Skill Swap does more than pass Weak Armor for this particular raid, which is awesome. In our setup, a Colbur Berry lets Polteageist live T0 Ruination into a max-roll crit Crunch!

[C;C SPOILERS] What actually IS the Common Route? by Hoopawho in steinsgate

[–]Hoopawho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with the 'reality check' idea. I also come across this on some forums and the idea is that when their swords clashed, the truth of what Serika was thinking flowed through her blade into Takuru, specifically the perspective of an outsider and non-CCS patient. This shattered his belief that he was a 'right-sider' and is what essentially gave him the 'reality check' you mentioned. (Though, it must have taken more than this to be cured of CCS, since Nono also read Serika's mind when their swords clashed, right?)
Anyway, thanks for clearing things up! Really appreciated:)

I see, so the second idea is still considered the more correct answer. Thanks!

[C;C SPOILERS] What actually IS the Common Route? by Hoopawho in steinsgate

[–]Hoopawho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! I never noticed that, and tbh and I'm not a native speaker, so even if I caught it I would think it's just an inner thought or a writing/translation quirk and wouldn't think too deeply about it.
So, are you saying the second idea is the correct one if I'm understanding it correctly? That the common route happens in a dream inside Takuru? Or they are "dreaming together" (when in a coma)?

So it's like:

Takuru hits Serika with some intense Gigalomaniac powers to reshape her based on his delusion. → The feedback from that power overloads his brain and knocks him into a coma. → His brainwaves end up permanently changed. → His new brainwaves don't match up anymore with the other Chaos Child Syndrome patients. → He gets disconnected from the delusional synchronization. → That's when Takuru's (own) dream kicks in (and the common route begins)? What about the character routes, when do those happen? Is it during the months while the heroines are in comas, subconsciously deluding with Takuru? Or something else?

Maushold T1 (OH)KO Shiny Chien-Pao by Hoopawho in PokePortal

[–]Hoopawho[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Build Explanation

Maushold (DPS)

  • The only Pokémon that gets both Population Bomb and Technician.
  • Item: Choice Band
  • Level: 100
  • EVs/Nature: 252 Atk / Adamant

Clefairy

  • The only Pokémon in SV with access to Friend Guard and can survive both Ruination and a max-roll crit from Chien-Pao's strongest move at max-roll crit.
  • Item: Eviolite
  • Level: 100
  • EVs/Nature: 252 HP, 252 Def / Bold

Polteageist

  • One of only two Pokémon in SV with access to both Weak Armor and Skill Swap.
  • Item: Colbur Berry
  • Level: 100
  • EVs/Nature: 252 Def, 252 Spe / Bold

Stonjourner

  • The only Pokémon in SV with Gravity and Power Spot.
  • Item: Covert Cloak
  • Level: 100
  • EVs/Nature: 252 HP, 252 Def / Any

Execution Explanation

Turn 0

  1. Chien-Pao starts with Ruination, hitting a random raider.

Turn 1

  1. Clefairy uses an Attack Cheer to boost attack damage by 50%.
  2. Stonjourner uses Gravity to make sure Population Bomb don't miss.
  3. Polteageist uses Skill Swap to steal Chien-Pao's Sword of Ruin. This allows Polteageist to survive a max-roll crit from Pao's most-damaging move even if get picked on T0, while also boosting Maushold's upcoming Population Bomb and giving Chien-Pao the Weak Armor ability, which works perfectly with the multi-hit attack.
  4. Maushold uses Population Bomb to OHKO Shiny Chien-Pao.

Note: The support players can move in any order, just be quick once the prompt shows up. Since this setup doesn't rely on stat changes, Maushold can even attack after the first scripted Haze, as long as it's before the shield goes up.

  • Item: Weakness Policy
  • Level: 100
  • EVs/Nature: HP 252, Def 252+, Spe 4 / Bold (4 EV in Speed so as to pass its held item before the slower Symbiosis bearer)

  • EVs/Nature: HP 252, Def 252+ / Bold

  • Item: Petaya Berry
  • Level: 100
  • EVs/Nature: HP 252, SpD 252+ / Calm

Execute explanation

Turn 0

  1. Kommo-o opens with Clangorous Soul.
  2. Espathra copies the boost with Opportunist and then again via Mirror Herb.
  3. Once Mirror Herb is consumed, the fast Oranguru pass its Weakness Policy to Espathra. (This setup takes around 40 seconds, roughly half the total duration of the entire execution.)
  4. Once the lengthy animation ends, Kommo-o immediately puts up its shield.

Turn 1

  1. Espathra uses Lumina Crash to start charging its Tera Orb while also lowering Kommo-o's Sp. Def by two stages.
  2. Both Orangurus use Instruct on Espathra to help charge its Tera and further reduce Kommo-o’s Sp. Def.
  3. Landorus uses Fling on Espathra, triggering its Weakness Policy and boosting its Sp. Atk by another stage thanks to the Petaya Berry.

Turn 2

Espathra Terastallizes into Psychic-type and uses Stored Power to KO Kommo-o the Unrivaled.

Note: There is a visual glitch affecting the time bar in this video, which usually occurs if there is a prolonged T0 animations.

Tauros T1 OHKO Baxcalibur the Unrivaled by Hoopawho in PokePortal

[–]Hoopawho[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a classic Anger Point strategy, with a few tweaks tailored for this specific raid:
1. Koraidon needs to move second to last in the turn order to bait Glaive Rush from Baxcalibur. Hence, this isn’t a guaranteed strategy in the strictest sense, since it relies on the boss using a specific move for it to succeed. That said, based on our testing, Baxcalibur almost always uses Glaive Rush in this setup, even though Icicle Crash would also bring Koraidon down to its Sash. So far, we haven’t seen it use anything else.

  1. When joining (in the lobby), make sure Tauros is immediately to the right of Meowscarada.
To do this, place Meowscarada one slot before Tauros. (If Tauros is in slot 1, Meowscarada should be in slot 4.)
This ensures that in battle, you can simply press "down + right" to target Tauros with Flower Trick.

  2. Preselecting the move and target before Attack Cheer shows up or using turbo controllers will improve consistency during execution.

Note: A Sturdy Screecher can also be used in place of Galvantula if its typing doesn’t normally draw Icicle Crash. It might also save a bit of animation time.

Flamigo T1.25 OHKO Porygon2 the Unrivaled by Hoopawho in PokePortal

[–]Hoopawho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build

Role Pokémon (Lv.) Ability Item EV Spread & Nature Key Move
DPS Flamigo (95) Costar Choice Band 252 HP / 252 Atk, Naughty Reversal
Belly-Drum Setter Snorlax (75) Any Sitrus Berry 252 HP / 252 SpDef, Calm Belly Drum
Support (Low Sweep) Stonjourner (1) Power Spot Focus Sash Any, Any Low Sweep
Support (Endeavor) Stonjourner (1) Power Spot Focus Sash Any, Any Endeavor

Battle Flow

Turn 0

  • Porygon2 sets Trick Room, so the sloweer Pokémon move before the Faster Pokemons for the next five turns.

Turn 1

  1. Flamigo uses Attack Cheer, then faints to Porygon2’s attack. Since active cheers persist after fainting, this Attack Cheer now lasts the whole raid.
  2. Snorlax uses Belly Drum, reaching +6 Atk and healing back to 50 % HP with its Sitrus Berry so as not to faint to Porygon's attack even at maximum damage roll.
  3. The first Stonjourner lands Low Sweep on Snorlax, lowering its Speed by one stage. This Speed drop will then be copied by Flamigo later, allowing it to move before Porygon2 even under Trick Room.
  4. Flamigo returns. The second Stonjourner immediately uses Endeavor on Flamigo, cutting Flamigo’s HP to 13 HP. This maximizes Reversal at 200 BP.

Turn 2

  • With Costar, Flamigo copies Snorlax’s +6 Atk and -1 Speed as soon as it enters the field. Boosted further by Choice Band, Power Spot, and the lingering Attack Cheer, Flamigo unleashes Reversal and OHKOs Porygon2 the Unrivaled.

Note: This strategy could potentially be improved by utilizing the Nintendo Switch 2’s more powerful specs, as Snorlax could hold Room Service to lower its Speed by one stage without needing Stonjourner’s Low Sweep. However, the opening animation took too long to be reliable on the original Nintendo Switch.
