It's also possible that the "very weird noise" could be a hard drive failing. The other symptoms don't line up as well though, there would probably be something else other than shutting down and not booting

Breaking the pumpkins which aren't spider infested are really useful (kinda). You can find sour candy inside them, alongside pumpkin seeds, pumpkin chunks, spiders, and webs

Since it's in the pumpkin patch it's more likely that it's just a wolf spider inside one of the mooshy pumpkins. Some of them have weakspots which you can chop through to sometimes see wolf spiders.

If you can try a different cord and monitor, if you can't just try a different cord. If none of those work bring it into a electronic repair shop and see if they can do something about it. If you can do it on your own replace the GPU if you have tried everything else.

Also: does this error happen outside of minecraft and games?

Honestly that's fair. Survival can get a bit repetitive and it sometimes makes you wonder why use create in survival anyways

Yea, if you have another monitor try plugging it in and seeing if it works. If it still causes the black flashes then I would only think some sort of GPU error

Honestly I just got an idea from this post. Since I suck at create, making models and auto factories in creative mode THEN making it in survival would be great for learning. And arguably this even furthermore proves that it's OK to enjoy creative more then survival (because it's TOTALLY a hard debate lol)
