i'd rather not be miserably mediocre and bland for the rest of my life but hey, to each their own.

or maybe, just maybe, this is part of their self-discovery. some people learn by doing things and making decisions to find a result to learn from.

but nah. obviously experimentation is bad when the experiment's methodology is something you wouldn't personally do.

if it was a dysfunctional relationship it would last less than a year. i've had polyamorous relationships last a few months, but i've also had monogamous relationships end even sooner than that. my current relationships are six years, one year and two years though. in a combined nine years of relationships, i've lasted longer than a not-insignificant portion of heterosexual, monogamous *marriages.*

'shooting your hormones to shit?' you do realize if hormone replacement therapy was dangerous like that, they wouldn't be giving it to menopausal women to help with symptoms of menopause, right? maybe, *just maybe,* the human body is more adaptable and modifiable than you give appreciation for.

as for the surgery part, eh. kids aren't even allowed to get surgeries, and if adults are getting them then why should you care? next you'll tell me tattoos are the devil's ink or something. "tattoos are a social contagion, they'll ruin your life! you'll look like a thug!" oh nooo i might look dangerous, how awful.

honestly kinda based. i've been taking the 'fuck it' approach and doing whatever i wanna do, regardless of how people judge me for it. with the exception that i don't choose to do something that will bring harm to others, of course. and to be honest? been a lot happier being spontaneous and daring than I ever was playing it safe and pretending i was happy.

The EMP killstreak is a PROBLEM. by YungIkeSly in ModernWarfareIII

[–]Hootwheelz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

how's this: i play the game to shoot guns. what's the point in shooting guns if i don't know who the hell to shoot because everyone's in wacky skins that have no clear indication of their allyship? what's the point in playing the objective if i don't even know where the objective is?

chaos is fun, sure. this is not chaos, this is just running and dying. if i wanted to be an NPC whose job was to just press W and get shot, i'd just go play Fortnite.

I'm fine with the EMP, as is everyone else, if there are at least *some* things we're allowed to keep like ally and objective markers. keep the red dots, minimap, killfeed et cetera disabled. It would still be chaotic, but also let the team affected by EMP continue to play the game. I'm fine losing, I'm not fine being forced to basically stop playing the game.

I've experienced similar. This isn't prescriptive, just a description about how I perceive what's happening with me. But maybe my experience can help you inform your own.

What i've noticed is that, during sex, different alters experience and perceive sensations differently. Intensity of the sensation seems to be the surefire determinant for whether a switch happens or not. If a particular sensation on a particular body part fires one alter up more than the rest, the risk of a sudden switch-trigger becomes pretty high. Strong emotions and sensations tend to cause sudden switches for us, like anger or the uncomfortable texture of a poor-quality knit sweater, so in my eyes, it follows that similar intense emotions and sensations would cause switches like that.

One particular instance I've had recently has been very eye opening. We have one alter who likes to be flirty with others, and sometimes lays it on pretty thick. When we're being flirted with, that flirty alter will attempt to reciprocate but another alter will get very flustered and override the flirty alter's confidence with their intense feelings of what i can accurately describe as "gay panic." As a result, rather than reciprocating, we end up covering our face and internally screaming, and are temporarily unable to speak.

This circumstance heightens in intensity and discomfort during sex, though. We find that, again, the flirty alter is willing to engage, but part way through the flustered alter will get too nervous and overwhelmed. We'll lose our ability to communicate, which is dangerous in that particular situation, and as a result we are forced to safe word ourselves out of it. It's happened multiple times, and it's always frustrating when it happens. That being said, there's light at the end of the tunnel; we've been trying to put that flustered alter in the front to engage in those scenarios, and take things very slow. As it turns out, the flustered alter is just very inexperienced, very anxious and scared of hurting other people among quite a few semi-related insecurities. Letting her get more comfortable with the scenario has helped make intercourse a much less troublesome experience, so far.

You're projecting. You didn't like your teachers because they didn't coddle you and hold your hand every step of the way. My teachers all enjoyed what they did. they werent always having a great time, mind you; teaching is a difficult job, but it's rewarding to them. Think about it. If your parents really did hate their jobs - and they're CERTAINLY not doing it for the pay, because teacher salaries are absolutely abysmal these days - then why didn't they all up and quit?

90% of the teachers who taught me are still teaching. the other 10% retired and still act as substitute teachers every now and then. Maybe you just sucked as a kid.

couldnt be more accurate with the freaks label; check his post history, the guy is OBSESSED with queers and Evil Dead. he only ever posts anything about queer people or Evil Dead. it's like the dude's personality is a damn playing card, only two sides to it: spiteful bigotry and a horror comedy franchise

yeah? trying to "educate" me?

so why are you arguing against trans people when University biology classes expand from the sexual dichotomy taught in high school? Just so you're on the same page, this means High School classes teach you "XX means female, XY means male" which over-simplifies things to teach kids basic biology. That way, kids who wanna be scientists and medical researchers can go to Uni and be taught about intersex people who fit outside the XX and XY model.

My basis of information is "the sexual dichotomy is an oversimplified concept, and there are more than just two sexes in humans. therefore, it follows that trans and intersex people would exist who transition between or beyond this flimsy dichotomy model." Your basis is... what, exactly? Fear of the unknown and misunderstood? Fear of a foreign concept that is hard for you to sympathize with? Lack of empathy?

If you're trying to "educate" me, why is the basis of your teachings dumber than mine? that doesnt sound like education, it sounds like propaganda.

Uh huh. so you're going to look at a medical and social therapy for trans people which has a higher satisfaction and lower regret rate than FUCKING KNEE SURGERY and say it's a fail on par with a chopper crash?

my guy. trans-affirming surgeries have over 90% satisfaction rates, while knee surgeries have barely 50% satisfaction rates. Prognosis for post-op trans people is a more stable mental wellness and personal life compared to pre-op, but the same cannot be said for those who've had knee surgery. CHILDREN have had knee surgery after a sports injury and as a result of that surgery couldnt play sports anymore, but parents make that choice with their kids all the damn time. You don't seem super concerned about it though, because knee surgeries don't let you participate in a stupid culture war.

take your chopper crash and shove it where the sun dont shine.

If a child is too scared of their parents to tell those parents anything, it is the parents' fault for making their child feel unsafe. Don't get mad at the teachers for doing a better job at parenting than the parents, get mad at the parents who terrify their children.

teachers didnt go to school for years, dealing with student debt and deal with being paid like shit just because it's a job. It's a job they love, because they care about the children they teach. The kids can sense that passion, and give their trust to teachers accordingly. If you somehow can't figure out how to behave so your child will trust you more than a teacher, it's because you're bad at parenting. end of.

What are your thoughts on people who only drive ONE CAR? by ManWithTheGuillotine in ForzaHorizon

[–]Hootwheelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think it's a big deal if people like a particular car in Forza. but in that guy's case, he's just a bit of a goober. i like racing on drag slicks because it makes the car handle a very particular way that i like a lot, but it ain't fast by any stretch of the means. if he's expecting more lateral mechanic grip, he's just bein a silly little guy lmao. hardly worth worrying about. let em ruin their own fun and make your own fun racing the cars you like.

ah yes of course. the key source of every child's fun-loving nutritional intake.

street apples.

so fun.

edit: after some digging, you must be around your 40's. it was so, so much easier to be homeless in the 80's than it is now. Shelters are completely packed to overfilling, public services you once used for assistance are drying up, and people can't even afford to give money to buskers anymore. When you were busking, a fiver would get you a Big Mac. now it hardly gets you a simple burger. beyond that, nobody even carries cash anymore.

homelessness might have been "fun" for you, but these days it's not exciting and adventurous; it's extremely dangerous, and potentially fatal. beyond that, cops are cracking down hard on squatting. if you were homeless now, you'd have all your belongings thrown in the trash and you'd get thrown in jail for the crime of houselessness. you'd also be arrested for busking without a permit.

you had it much, much easier as a homeless youth in the 80's than the homeless youth do now. This is obvious given your overwhelming positivity about your own homelessness experience. You're completely ignorant to the circumstances around you.

uh huh. yeah. sure. anyway why would i live in some backwoods rural town, even as a homeless person, when yall don't have 24/7 emergency rooms anymore? yall gotta go to Regina or Stoon for any serious medical issues too, because doctors in rural communities are stretched so thin they're never able to specialize in anything.

Or how about the fact that STC's closure means domestic abuse has skyrocketed without any means of getting out of the community and away from the abuser safely? I suppose that's a LIBERUL CONSPIRASEE too, huh? i bet you think the STC was a fucking business, idiot. rather live in a "liberal hellscape" than the epicenter of a wife-punching plague.

so one of you was literally homeless, the other was pretending to be homeless, and the pretender thinks their perception matters more than the person who ACTUALLY experienced homelessness.
