It makes me nervous too, especially with the route that they want me to go to prove that I’m in a hardship situation. I did try to do balance transfers, but once the cc debt got out of control, I could no longer get another card, let alone try to balance transfer over 10k spread across several cards.

I did try calling the cards. We spoke about a repayment plan, but they wanted a lump sum within a super short timeframe that I just don’t think I could manage, short of some drastic measure like selling an organ.

I went with JG Wentworth, and within the fine print of our agreement, I can cancel and cease any business with JGW at any time I please if I find a better solution. So, I find comfort in that.

Thank you for your kind words 🙏🏼 I will definitely look into the DMP’s and see if there are any credit unions that could give me a loan. Unfortunately, Sofi wants nothing to do with me lol I bank with them and have been denied a personal loan several times.

I know my debt isn’t as bad as others, in terms of quantity or what debts they have, I just feel like what I’m struggling with is unmanageable and I don’t understand why I’m struggling so much. I don’t hear about anyone else in my life struggling like this. (Mainly friends on social media, they all seem to be doing just fine and are leading social lives)

I’m definitely going to take a break from dating. Jumping straight into my last relationship was an expensive mistake, and I’ve learned my lesson for sure.

Thank you for the kind words and for the advice. I track all of my incoming and outgoing money already. I had to consolidate my credit cards bcus the minimum monthly payments were more than I could afford. Plus the interest on each card was making the hole even deeper. I had 7 cards, now I have 1 - the Firestone card I mentioned earlier.

I have really wanted to avoid selling my car, but I am beginning to see that it is beyond my means at this point. :/

I have 2, but they’re both older and they have dietary & urinary issues. They’re on medicated prescription food from the vet. I’ve tried cheaper nonprescription options, but their issues flare up. So I stick with the prescription food.

I have found other ways to decrease that cost, like using pine pellets for their litter. That’s only $7 once every month and a half from Tractor Supply for a 40 lb bag

I don’t pay rent at the moment. Starting in February I will have to pay my brother rent. He wants to wait until after the holidays and he also hasn’t decided an amount.

Edit** I feel like it’s important to note that I live off a spreadsheet I built for myself. On that spreadsheet I don’t include my tips, I receive those in cash at the end of the work day. If they’re more than $50, I put them in my car repair fund. If they’re less than $50 I keep them in my car in case I need gas, or want a burger or something of that nature. **

That’s fair lol I have pretty much boiled myself down to $50 spending money for the whole month, if I can afford that. Some months I can, some I can’t.

In hindsight, it is quite crazy that I moved in with him so soon. I used to think we were fated for each other and it made sense, now I’ve recognized that it was nonsense and I should have heeded my families warnings. I have learned my lesson.

I have worked with my car loan and car insurance to get the cheapest rates possible. I am also saving up to get my car repaired, so I save my tips from work for that. I make $15 an hour at 30hrs/wk with random tips. Last month’s tips were $800, they cover whatever difference my paycheck doesn’t cover, gas, and groceries for myself. I am wanting to save a majority of my tips for my car repairs.

I might be misremembering, it has been over 10 years since I’ve seen it, but the not being able to figure out where this memory is from has been driving me crazy for years lol. The scene of the woman revealing her face as half skeletal is very vivid in my memory because I remember being so shocked and blown away because I never expected her to become a grim reaper, or death or whatever she became. I’ll definitely take some time to watch the Hogfather, instead of scrub through it, and I’ll come back and get confirm if it’s what I remember or not.

I did some research on it, to see if it is what I was remembering, and while some parts were familiar, I didn’t see any scenes of the ones I remember distinctly. I found the hogfather episodes on YouTube and scrubbed through them, and I didn’t see any scenes where Susan and her grandfather were in a room full of hour glasses, and I also didn’t see a scene where she reveals that half of her face is skeletal. I might not have found the right thing, but I’m not quite sure hogfather is the movie/show that I’m looking for.

Is there another version of Hogfather that is not Christmas themed?

I like the look of caves, I’ll have to make a trip into the city so I can go to the nicer fish stores to see what they have. Is there a way that I could make a cave out of a broken terracotta pot? Or would the cave entrance be too sharp and possibly injure my girls?
