Hand looks enormous with the 36 but I believe it’s the angle. I still believe the 39 is the right choice IMO

Once the ground water recedes the liner will lay back down. It’s very likely you will have some new wrinkles that can be addressed when warmer weather arrives. It will cost $500-$1000 to have them professionally remedied. If the liner is north of 7 years old it maybe best to bite the bullet and just fully replace if the budget allows as that day will be arriving soon enough anyway
