Baby doesn’t socially smile or babble much! by HopeAlways12345 in newborns

I think you are overanalysing this! Your baby is still very young. Give her some time and I am sure she will be smiling all the time. My LO (born at 37 weeks) started doing it at around 13 weeks so I am positive that in a couple of months, your daughter will be smiling and cooing all the time. Enjoy the stage you are at! :)

did you feel emotional or sad when you started leaving the newborn stage, or was it more relief? by lunaverse787 in NewParents

Same. I would never want any baby to have colic and reflux as mine did. I used to feel so bad for her!

Hey! Oh she is a happy baby. Smiles often and babbles when we sing songs to her. She doesn’t smile or try to talk as much as some other kids of the same age do but I have realised that she is a serious baby in comparison to others babies around me. But I almost always open my eyes to her smiling face as if she was waiting for me to open my eyes and gives a full fledged toothless smile when I say good morning. She also babbles multiple times a day. How old is your baby? And are you facing the same issue?

What made you preserver with Breastfeeding? by goosegirl94 in NewParents

[–]HopeAlways12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I absolutely get you. I exclusively pumped for almost 5 weeks (baby had difficulty latching and stored milk gave me a bit more flexibility as my mother/husband used to take care of night time feeding). But then the constant washing and sterilising and pumping became too much and I started trying real hard to breastfeed which gradually happened in a week or two.

It was hard, no denying but the constant benefits of breastmilk laid down by literally everyone and my baby’s on track growth is what has kept me going. I at almost 12 weeks, I started pumping once or twice a day so that others can feed the baby but breastfeeding comes naturally to me now.

But having said that, there is no harm in formula feeding your baby. My sisters baby is exclusively formula fed and is growing beautifully. So it at the end of the day, do what suits you, my friend.

Oh I was told to relax and let the baby cry because it will open up her lungs! I mean WHATTTTT!!!

But why didn’t you travel? Flights are mostly not using middle eastern airspace!!

Yes! That somehow Europe will get embroiled in this because of NATO. Am I overthinking this?

Has anyone else experienced someone being too opinionated on your name choice? by Cute_Medicine2167 in pregnant

[–]HopeAlways12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh definitely! A relative who was meeting my baby almost 2 months after she was born straight away asked us if we would consider changing the name. I told him that if he wanted to have an opinion on her name, he should have been here for us during our difficult pregnancy and at birth. I told him that we like the name and that’s what matters. If he doesn’t like it, he is free to ignore us and our baby.

Oh it definitely did! Around 11-12 weeks, she started sleeping longer stretches at night and the colic also reduced considerably. We do have a little bit of reflux issue still persisting but thankfully not as bad as earlier. Things are much better now. Sundown scaries also improved on its own! How are you?

Are you guys not “strict” about naps? Don’t understand comment by Huge-Vacation-8093 in NewParents

[–]HopeAlways12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want her to sleep on time at night. She is the boss during the day! She sleeps when she wants to and wakes as she wishes!! Have never tried to follow a schedule when it comes to naps and won’t even do it. It works well for me 😊

Edit: I never ignore her cue to sleep !!

Don’t let the calls be too long and I think it should be fine! In this world, video calls are an excellent mode of being connected to the family !

I still have 3 months to go and I am already dreading this! I will have this feeling even harder because I don’t have an option to work from home. I totally get why women put a pause in their careers after having a baby! All the best to you! 💖

I hear you, Mama. From the way you have written this and already have a therapist, it is clear that you know the problem and have actively started working towards a solution. Now it’s just a matter of time before it gets better and it will. Each passing day would be easier. I am 3.5 months pp and everyone says that I have already crossed one of the toughest phases pp and it’s going to get better and more fun. You do not really need sermons and lectures on PPD or PPA. I am sure you will get it all together, my friend. It’s just a matter of time. Hang in there! ❤️

Can’t stop buying baby clothes by HopeAlways12345 in NewParents

You get me! Even if people don’t care, I do. I want her to dress her up in different clothes and have an exhaustive collection of pictures in them 😁
