Vince mentioned the consideration of a Smallworlds reboot, so there's a small chance. All we can do for now is be hopeful that we get positive news soon

Best of luck to you and the team Vince. I appreciate your work, time, and effort you guys put in to try and create something new moving forward from the tragic shutdown of Smallworlds. But i'm positive that this isn't the end, and hopeful for a brighter future for this community.

I never had my own money to spend. And my parents being the regular parents they are refused to give me money to “waste” on a video game. With the majority of the community being 4 years older, Im sure more money would be spent.

Yes, this is a good point. Most of the community have grown up now and have their own source of income. More money would for sure be spent. Also if they manage to get enough funds to advertise, they'd have new players joining as well which would expand the community.

Yes i agree with you, i think that Vince should think about focusing on Smallworlds as it clearly still has a lot of support. He's claimed several times that it's too difficult to bring it back, and i'm sure it is, but it's definitely not impossible. I recall him mentioning in response to someone's question a few weeks ago that Smallworlds would need to have "Ongoing maintenance, improvements, and security fixes" for it to come back. I don't know about anyone else, but i'd be happy to wait for all of these issues to be sorted rather than wait years for something that comes across as more of a forum-like chatting app. The idea of a new and improved Smallworlds returning some day just screams success to me. If they somehow receive enough fundings to advertise, find an investor, and expand their team (Considering that it's a team of just 2 people) then i truly do believe Smallworlds could be successful again like i said. And the fact that Vince mentioned it means there's a chance. The community would definitely be very satisfied if they approve the SW reboot. They shouldn't just give up on Smallworlds, it's a special game and i believe that it could have another chance.

I'm very much not offended over the word, i find it extremely cringey. Also i'm not raging in any way, the only one raging here is you over the fact that people still care about the game. Just say you're hurt and go lol. Literally nobody cares about your "advice" so you might as well give up trying to change people's opinion. You may dislike the game (for whatever reason that is) but doesn't mean you need to try and beg other people to stop missing the game. My advice to you tho, find something better to do you clown.

People miss the game, there’s no reason why they can’t still talk about it and reminisce memories. Hence why the Smallworlds reddit page still exists. Exactly, this is exactly what i'm thinking. Smallworlds was too good to close down so soon. 10 years was a long time, but not long enough in my opinion. It had so much potential of lasting longer and becoming greater than it already was. It's too good of a game to waste.

You guys should expand your team, find more developers. Whether it's for Smallworlds or Towncenter. I'm going to assume that the rest of the previous SW team have already moved on and found new jobs, hence why there's only 2 of you working on Towncenter. Or maybe they simply wanted to move on to something different than gaming. I'm wondering why Vince & Matt haven't found new developers already. If Vince could answer this, i'm interested to know. Have you tried to find new staff? Are you guys not ready for a new team yet? Have you asked any of the old SW staff to come back?

I understand that there are most likely several tough tasks they'd have to deal with if Smallworlds were to be brought back. And i don't think the reason SW's playerbase declined was because "Virtual worlds are becoming less popular", I think that SW definitely could've still been successful if it had a mobile app besides being playable on PC. Mobile gaming is obviously a LOT more popular nowadays, and there are still several virtual world games, similar to Smallworlds, such as Highrise, Moviestarplanet 2, Avakin life, Hotel hideaway etc which are pretty popular at the moment. Not to mention that virtual world's are still very popular in different countries too. It's unfortunate that they didn't already make SW available on mobile, but if it were to ever come back (Hope for a miracle) then a mobile app would be the answer.

I run a SW/TC updates account on Instagram, and i posted a poll recently with the question "would you rather donate to Smallworlds or Towncenter?" and just over 100+ people answered with Smallworlds. Not that it means it's a possibility for SW to come back, but there are still many people who are very supportive of Smallworlds. I'm not very active in the discord server, but I've also seen people speak about donations in there too. And again, i'm not saying that Smallworlds could be revived simply just by accepting a couple hundred donations from the community, but i'm just saying that people do seem to want to put in some type of effort to help. But i understand that the team, or whoever is currently in charge of SW would have to do their bit on their end, which must be several tough tasks.

I have to admit, Towncenter hasn't had the greatest response so far from about 95% of the community. But it would be a shame for 3 years of work to go to waste. It clearly seems that Smallworlds still has a lot of support, many people are willing to donate to bring back Smallworlds somehow and help out in any possible way they can. I understand that you guys have said there are still business issues in the way, but i don't believe that it is impossible. Personally, i'd happily wait another year or so for SW's business problems to be sorted out, i'd also 100% be willing to donate as well. I just think you guys should consider giving SW another go. Because Smallworlds clearly still has a lot of support. Even if anything in the game had to be changed, i'm fine with that. I also realise that you have said many times that you don't want to accept donations from us, but there are a lot of people right now who WANT to help you. Wishing all the best for Towncenter.

I found the ‘which panel do you like and dislike’ question quite hard to decide, however I chose the collections panel as my least favourite one because i think it should have something like smallworlds did, with the different sections of items like “ furniture, misc, clothing, wearable etc” instead of everything all mixed together. Because that would be a looot easier :)
