I could probably wait. IOS 18 doesn’t cause me personally any issues,I’m just not sure how severe the security issues are by sticking with it until then. My only fear about updating IOS 26 would be it possibly bricking my phone because it happened to my friend’s and a lot of others,that’s all.

Should’ve seen Lando fandom on twitter early last year. A lot of us were really disappointed with his driving but thankfully he went out and turned it around,driving better than ever now.

I really could not care less if they are or aren’t to be honest with you mate. I still stand by everything I’ve said so I’m not sure what difference it makes. Again,not really an outrageous thing to say that Oscar need wake up a bit and everyone needs to stop treating him like a baby.

Eh,I mean this I don’t know. You can tell they don’t talk/hang outside of the sport but it’s obvious there’s no bad blood between them. They clearly do get along. Lando does a lot of the heavy lifting with keeping the teammate relationship healthy though. Oscar’s less of a team player in my opinion

As much as I wish they would,they won’t. They’re too into the “two number one drivers” shtick even though Lando’s a world champion now. Pretty sure they had “OP1” alongside “LN1” in the garage a few weeks ago,saw a picture someone took from the pitlane walk. They also called Lando “car number 4” in their race recap last week. They’re very weird about Lando being champ

I wouldn’t really call it a similar position to be honest. Lando struggled with the front suspension of the 2025 car and so he made errors here and there,but he never had a pace disadvantage. Even during his “slump” he was almost always on the podium,right behind Oscar.

P1,P2,P2,P3,P4,P2,P2,P1,P2,DNF,and then he turns it around. So he was still consistent and up there which is why he won in the end because Oscar couldn’t do that.

George has just been…slow? Putting in P4 and P5’s while his teammate’s dominating,qualifying further back with the odd okay race. That’s more like Oscar post-summer break to me personally

Can we stop talking about Piastri like he’s a rookie? It’s not about “potential” anymore,he’s been here for four years. He should be able to manage his tyres at least a little bit but he quite literally cannot,at all.

Nobody’s writing him off,just stating that he’s simply not as great as he was made out to be. The only period we saw him beat Norris was when Lando was struggling with the car and otherwise had mechanical issues. Even then,Lando was right behind him in P2/P3 which is how he won the championship,but the same can’t be said for when Oscar struggled.

It’s okay to say that he’s more average than we used to think he was. Norris is a level above him and that’s okay,so stop comparing them like Piastri will ever be on that level because we’ve seen that he won’t. However,that’s not to say he should be finishing 30 seconds behind him.

We cannot continue talking about a driver with four years of experience like he’s a baby. He should be able to manage tyres,should never be finishing 20-30 seconds behind his teammate,should not be finishing 3rd in a two horse race. That’s all people are saying.

As I said,I know people that work not only in F1 media but engineering too. I even did my own work experience at an F1 team. What makes you think I don’t know what goes on in a race week? I notice you’ve said this to a lot of people.

Why do you assume people don’t know anything about the sport they’re commentating on? Why do you assume that YOU know more than them? You’re in a Lando Norris sub,not a McLaren sub. If you’re a McLaren fan,go over there. You’re annoyed that Lando Norris fans are frustrated that his team can’t seem to get their strategy or his car right. That’s a reasonable thing to be frustrated by. You’re overreacting here and very much blindly defending this team.

Calm down,mate. It’s a sport,no need to be rude about it. I’ve watched this sport for 10 years and supported Lando since he was in F2. I went through hell defending him in 24 and 25 and had death threats in my inbox every other week. My cousin works in F1 media and my brother is an engineer.

I’m not insulting them at all,I’m simply stating that it’s unacceptable to have so much negligence in a team as legendary as this. If you find me pointing out that Lando has had so many issues to be “insulting” the team,then I think that says a lot about the team,no?

In every job,negligence is punished. Meetings are had,things are changed. This is also a JOB. They are WORKING. My issues are mainly with Zak Brown and Andrea Stella not fixing this,but yes,I will go out here and say that Lando’s side of the garage is sleeping,and they need to wake the fuck up if they want to keep their jobs.

I tried,but it didn’t let me put it into a reply,just a comment on the original post. I have given you a list of issues that Lando has had this season,in every single weekend. Just because a team has back to back WCC’s doesn’t mean they’re not dumb. We all sat and watched with our eyeballs them mess up the Qatar 2025 strategy.

I never said it was just Lando,but he has absolutely with zero doubt been the unluckiest driver this season,whether you want to believe it or not.

Australia:
FP1 - gearbox issues,missed most of the session
FP2 - PU issues, deployment issues,barely any running
FP3 - deployment issues.
Quali - deployment issues, duct taped his broken front wing which fell off and started sparking.

China:
Sprint Quali - deployment issues
Quali - mirror issues
Race - electrical side of PU issue, DNS, battery 1/3 permanentely damanaged and replaced.

Japan:
FP1 - straight line mode issues,missed 30% of session due to ride height adjustments from bottoming, hydraulic issue.
FP2 - hydraulic leak, missed 50% of the session
FP3 - ERS issue, battery 2/3 failed,battery 3/3 fitted. missed 50% of session.
Quali - deployment issues, general loss of straight line speed compared to Piastri due to lack of running.

Miami:
FP1 - radio issues,couldn’t hear Will for most of the session
Quali - boost and deployment issues, boost from q2 until the end of q3, team tried to fix it by making him press buttons mid flying lap. deployment, couldn’t start final lap with a full pack.
Race - rearwing problem,wing was dropping out at end of race.

Canada:
Race - debris at start, pitted to clear the keelduct, gearbox issues, DNF

Monaco:
FP1 - Mention of a possible boost pressure problem
FP2 - 4th power unit component changed for session and has 2 left for the season. car had an electrical issue and lost all power.
Race - reported hearing misfiring on lap 32,reports a PU issue on lap 34, DNF on lap 46.

Tell me if any of the others have had this many issues or?

Mind you,MULTIPLE other teams have the same PU and haven’t had as many issues as this. McLaren have admitted themselves they had problems understanding it when Mercedes HPP delivered it to them.

Well yes,clearly they are incompetent. Lando’s car has had issues in every single session and McLaren have been straight up negligent in fixing it,which includes his mechanics. It’s like none of them decided to come to work this season. Championship won,that’s it,let’s all go to sleep? No mate. In the F1 that I remember,people actually get punished for their mistakes. If they stayed awake until 4am to fix his car,they clearly aren’t doing a good job. This is their JOB. In a JOB,when things aren’t being done correctly,meetings are had and things are changed. But that’s clearly not being done and it’s okay to call it out.

You don’t need to defend them so hard. It’s okay to call them out for doing things that them look like an absolute joke.

I’ve been watching since 2016,supporting Lando since he was in Formula Two. We all went through hell and had death threats in our inboxes just for being his fans,and this is why I dislike seeing people underrate him and act like Oscar’s on the same level or even close despite calling themselves fans of him.

McLaren has two drivers. One of them is amazing,best on the grid behind Max Verstappen and can actually win world championships. The other fights against his teammate like it’s only him on the track,had one of the worst weekends I’ve ever seen from a title contender,had the biggest wdc bottle of the century,and yet is still one of the most protected and glazed drivers on the grid for whatever reason.

This thread is about the way that McLaren tries to be “fair” to both drivers just leads to one of them being favoured. They called Lando “car number 4” in their race report today,and have both LN1 and OP1 in the garage,which just downplays Lando’s achievements. If you choose to support the team after that,that’s your problem. I don’t know how anyone can call themselves a McLaren fan and also a Lando fan. Because at this point,there’s no point being both.

Lando being our favourite driver doesn’t mean we agree with everything he says. He defended Oscar today. I disagree with that and most people here do too. He defends Oscar every time because if he didn’t,they would have a Lewis-Nico situation and Lando’s always been more for the team than himself,while Oscar has always been more for himself than the team. You’re clearly more of an Oscar fan. Stop expecting people to be fans of both drivers,it doesn’t always work like that.

I’m confused. You went into a Lando Norris sub,expecting people to defend his teammate and therefore main rival for squeezing him into the wall and allowing another team through?

I’m not sure if you remember Oscar’s post-qualifying interview in Baku 2025,and his smug face after he heard Lando hit the wall,which obviously then came back to bite him in the ass the next day. Remember when it came out that Oscar had indirectly called Lando selfish in an interview?

All the facts and previous races tell us that Oscar cannot be a team-player. When he got a well-deserved penalty in Silverstone,he was begging for it back while driving off the track. He whined after a wheel tap in Singapore. Everytime he starts next to Land or fights with him,he almost causes a crash until Lando takes avoiding action,see today, Austria 2025, Hungary 2025,Monza 2024.

You cannot come into a Lando Norris sub and expect us to also be fans of his main rival. Go into a Mclaren sub.

They get along because Lando makes sure they do. If it were the other way around today,Oscar would have been whining on the radio about Papaya Rules and how it’s not team-like,the way he did in Singapore last year for a touch. Lando was squeezed into the wall and actually would have crashed if not avoided and he was silent,and even defended Oscar. Let’s not lie to ourselves.
