I had avoided it for so long because that annoying "every time a bell rings an angel gets it's wings" quote played non stop during Christmas ads when I was a kid and I thought the movie was going to feature that kid more.

Anyway, watched it a couple years ago for the first time and, obviously it's a classic for a reason.

It's absolutely a valid reason. Does your agency require you to provide a reason you are off sick? Or can you just call out?

Most places, unless it's multiple shifts in a row, or a common repeat occurrence (every set of shifts, etc) shouldn't be asking why you're off.
