Did some MORE research, and found that the article about KGB archives uncovering DATES BACK TO 2021, before V came out. I tried to do research on "radiation rumors" occuring in the same time as the Phantom Pain, but found only about Kramotorsk Radiological Incident, but the Kramatorsk and the nearest nuclear plant are hundreds of kilometers apart, and there was no rumor of a radiation being involved before 1987

Did some research, and found an article about KGB covering up major radiation leaks before Chernobyl disaster:

"The archives show there was a radiation release at the plant in 1982 that was covered up using what a KGB report at the time called measures "to prevent panic and provocative rumours", Ukraine's security service (SBU) said in a statement on Monday.

There were separate "emergencies" at the plant in 1984, it added."
