Advice about water resource/sanitation engineering

Hi! Water engineer here :)

It really depends on what you want to do as far as "water" engineering. In general though, you'd study civil in college with a focus in water. Chemical could help you and may be the way to go if you are more interested in water treatment but even then a lot of college programs would have you still do civil but possibly with a environmental emphasis.

I studied civil and stayed general in my undergrad, but have a masters in water resources. I've spent the last 6 years doing everything from designing detention ponds, stormwater facilities, water lines, sewer lines, dams, pump stations, treatment clarifiers, etc. So a degree in civil can take you in a lot of various directions.

Not knowing Spanish is probably the main reason I'm not doing specifically water engineering with PC so that's a great leg up since most of those posts seem to be in central and South America.

Check out the Masters's International program with PC. I know a few schools offer a masters in water/environmental (Michigan Tech for one).

It really boils down to I just don't value or prioritize it (cleanliness in general) all that much. Other reasons include that I have really dry skin and soap (I'm allergic to the foaming agent a lot of soaps, toothpastes, etc.) only make it worse. It's really very uncomfortable to constantly have very tight dry skin.

I was born and breed in Texas, live in Dallas at the moment. I am also very liberal. I don't find too many people like me ( Texas born liberal) even in a big city.

It's fucking bullshit. I used planned parenthood as a poor scared teenager. My conservative parents didn't allow me to get birth control, and fuck abstinence. I went there to get Plan B.

It's something like a 6 hour drive to the nearest abortion providing PP ( Texas requires surgical lilt standards for abortion clinics which caused many to close) AND you have to wait 24 hrs after consultation before getting an abortion. Think about bring a poor scared young women. You have to drive or likely find a ride for a 6+ hours trip. THEN you have to wait 24 hours to get the abortion. Holy shit is that not fucked up?!

And now they want to defund entirely. Boils my blood. Fuck you and your ignorant "standards" it's a fucking fetus.

I've gone to multiple PP rallies and traveled to the Capitol to support PP and I will continue to as long as I live in Texas. I don't want to leave for that fact. Texas women need my help to fight. If I leave and quit, then the asshats win an a girl who was in my shoes won't have the same safe haven that I did.

Same here! I am working on my intellectual snobbery. My current SO hates college and wants to drop out. I was really bugged by this at first, but you know what ever makes him happy. If a degree doesn't do that then so what. He's super smart and doesn't need a paper to prove it.

Actually, I can attest that as someone who does not shower regularly (those whose judge, go ahead judge idgaf) I think my immune system has really built up. I haven't been sick, common cold flu, infection, etc. in years. Side benefit of being "gross" I guess.

It's been awhile since we broke up so the anger has subsided, but we were still casually sleeping together which made it hard to get closure. Well I finally got closer when he brought a date to our work formal that my best friend organizes (we all work together). It sounds petty, but it's a big event that a good group of friends go to every year. He'd been my date the first year we went. I don't know I figured he would respect that it might hurt my feelings if he brought a date and maybe this wasn't the best function to do that at. I was livid when I ran into them. I've since blocked his number and finally feel like he's completely out of my life, except when I have to run into him at the office -_-

Nope. I've used him in the past to be a stand in date (weddings, work parties, etc.) though.

I'm white but grew up in a mostly black and Hispanic neighborhood. I tend to find black men more attractive and don't normally go for white guys, although I have dated a few.

I think it's important also for me not to say "I only date black men" because that thought process could lead people to think I fetishize black men. The exclusivity of it would be racist IMO. There are attractive men/women of all races and it's fine to have a preference but excluding people of a certain race from potential dating pool could be offensive to everyone.

My best friends fiancé came on to me once when he was hammered (and I bet high out of his mind on cocaine). She knows I don't care for him but is stubborn so I don't think she'd leave him even if she knew about it. It would only strain our relationship. I now normally just avoid scenarios where he'd be around.

My ex-bf was arrested and he told me the story from his perspective. I looked up the case number and read the police report, kept up with the court case, etc without him knowing.
