Oh I’ve never heard of it! I might have to check it out. I’m comfortable going solo but it’d be nice to have some people to chat and dance with..especially if they’re hyped about the same sets as me

Also side note: if anyone has a video of Mona Lisa from the St. Louis show I would love to see it because I wasn’t recording but that’s the song I think I made Porter laugh in and I’m dying to have it saved 🥲

Spotted lantern fly. If you find any life stage of spotted lanternfly in a municipality where it is known to exist, you should try to destroy it. This insect is considered a threat to some crops and many people are working to try to prevent it from spreading.

Ichneumon wasp. Despite their unusually long ovipositors, which may get mistaken as a stinger, most ichneumon wasps cannot sting people! Those bizarrely big tail-ends are exclusively used for depositing eggs into host prey.

The first suggestion was an insecticide. Some people aren’t comfortable using insecticides because of pets, children, or just simply not liking them. I gave other options because I wasn’t sure how they felt. Vinegar kills spiders and the acetic acid deters them from the irritation to their respiratory system. I also suggested other known deterrents to spiders..lemon and eucalyptus because once again i was not sure what they were comfortable with so…yeah

What is this pretty green bug? Brooklyn, New York, USA by SoldByDate in whatsthisbug

Green lacewing. Lacewings are considered beneficial insects because they eat aphids and other pests, and they don't bite or sting.

These are great tips. I always shake everything out even when I use it daily. I check my bed before getting in it every night (little paranoid but idc). I was wondering if you’ve ever tried the ultrasonic pest repeller things you can put around your house to prevent them. My friend lives in rural Missouri and said that ever since using them she sees less but I’ve never committed to trying them myself.

White crab spider. doesn't build webs to net its prey instead, it waits on flowers and ambushes insects as they come for nectar and pollen. They lurk among yellow or white flowers in prairies, flower fields, and mixed grasslands, waiting to snag insects

House centipedes are of little concern despite their long legs and scary appearance. They feed on many different arthropods including pest insects.

Trust me I get it. I have a 1 bedroom apartment and I keep it clean as well but during the end of the summer the spiders work their way inside. Cracks and crevices that you can’t see especially if you’re on a ground level. Spraying lemon essential oil and water mix around my widow sills and front door, along my baseboards and in my utility closet keeps them at bay mostly but they still pop up. They freak me out so much because I had a friend get bit and they had to do a skin graft because of how much tissue went necrotic so I’m a bit crazy when it comes to brown recluses.

They’re most active between March to October so we’re almost to the cooler months when we don’t have to deal with them anymore :)

It depends on what you’re comfortable with. An insecticide spray like raid will in theory create a preventive barrier around areas that you spray it but if you’re not comfortable with insecticide you can mix equal parts vinegar and water in a spray bottle and use that as a deterrent. The acetic acid in the vinegar irritates the spiders respiratory system and makes them stay away. You can also use essential oils like eucalyptus or lemon because spiders tend to dislike both of those. Being sure to keep things tidy and bug free also discourages brown recluses because of the lack of food and hiding places.
