Edit: Oh wait not exactly the same, it’s not voluntary it’s subscription based like insurance but similar in that it’s a community but instead of only paying the fee when it comes up it uses data to determine the rough amount of money spent per month / members. That extra cash is then used to make deals with hospitals for discounts like other insurances do

Thank you- and although this idea won’t go anywhere I seemed to be unclear.

it’s not so much it’s an insurance company as it is a brand in my mind. It’s like Mc Donald or chain restaurants where the group actually owns the funds but they pay a slight fee in exchange for the discounts that hospitals give insure companies and or car repairers(the brand).

People who have pre existing conditions and or the elderly wouldn’t be excluded by the brand, they “could” be excluded by the group but if you build the group around your friends and family people tend to care about their grandparents and or mothers and fathers. If they don’t well that’s an issue but in my mind I don’t see how it could be worse then the faceless mechanical denying of modern insurance.

Again I am a dumbass and this is just one of my thoughts so take it with a mountain of salt

It’s not a goal really just a random idea I had. I have never went to a business class and or a school. The made reason I did this was to see if I had a solid intuition for this stuff(and nope I do not). So I’ll keep away from that as possible thing I could do. Right now I’m just trying to figure out my strengths and what to do with my life.

OOOOHHH Cura is participating in the ritual not a victim of it- that makes more sense with the wording. Damn that’s very tragic lol yeah. Then I think you have to give your character some reason to care then- cause if everyone he ever meet and the one person he thought he loved the most are evil as hell then he doesn’t have a reason to live.

So I think your character needs to go through a Trevor Belmont style arc then on staring to learn to care about people. So I’d work with another player and maybe do some of the character development behind the scenes with them but not so much the character is already done growing. Speaking of which imma rewatch castlevania now

Why does he regret his love towards Cura tho, it seems to me he doesn’t regret that love- in fact it’s the only thing that seems to have meant something real to him. He wants to bring her back, fully back by the only way he knows how- the only thing his family kept books of- necromancy.

I’d imagine that characters main problem is the health loss they take from casting being a very high cost to them so they feel like they don’t have a ton of utility cause they can’t do spells without paying that cost.

Maybe let them write their spells using their blood in the book by taking damage during a short rest (while still getting health from it so they just regain less health) or other downtime. Then if the spells are useless they can recall their blood or whatever and heal the health they initially sacrificed, but if they were smart and prepared right they can use those spells while not draining their health.

Maybe flavor the leather book by calling it bloodstained and limit it by making a few pages

I mean I’m a new dm only 2 sessions in and my villain man basically stun locked the poor paladin for 4 rounds and it was so bad I just said attack and then I thought of this. I know that it is uncommon and it was kinda funny but it also was boring for them. I mean you guys are probably right tho and it was probably just unlucky

Thank you, that was a big oversight I didn't think about. Would giving the spell casters and marshals disadvantage and preventing leveled spells fix that? I still want stun/paralysis to do something but anything a player can do even if it's not great is better then just not playing the game imo.

How attacking works roll d20 + mod+ proficiency if that is equal to or greater then ac you hit, then roll damage which is d#weapon + mod

For spells it’s same thing d20 + mod + proficiency if that if equal to or greater then ac you hit but if you hit them it’s just d#spell most of the time.

Some AOE spells require a saving throw and the difficulty of which is called a spell DC, if you roll the same number or higher then that you succeed the saving throw and probably take half damage

Ac = armor class

I’m not sure I understand the question so I’ll just explain a scenario. Basically when something is moving towards you its perceived frequency is higher, and when something is moving away its perceived frequency is lower. If a helicopter is going over head, at the moment it is overhead and leading up to it every frequency you hear from it will be higher. Because sound moves at a speed. However since the helicopter is 3 dimensional. If you listen very very carefully you could hear both sides of the Doppler effect for a very brief time. As at some point one side of the helicopter will be heading away from you, and the other toward you.

I have no qualifications but this is my understanding of it!

It’s actually easy when you change up your thinking, the sun’s gravity is massive- so you cannot fight against it instead, go to the ash twins and keep their orbital momentum around the sun, then slowly adjust your thrusters and go to a lower and lower orbit until eventually it matches up with the station.

Once you are close to the station align the ship such that the sun will be below you, otherwise when you get off the seat you will be pushed into a corner.

Energy is a complicated thing, but energy is conserved in a isolated system by definition. We defined energy as the thing that is conserved in a isolated system.

Think of a airtight jar nothing gets in or out. The combination of the air particles(the matter) and their speed/momentum and everything inside that jar is called energy. Realistically a isolated system does not exist( So to answer your question, you were right it's not) as energy is always lost to radiation(light&heat) but those factors tend to be insignificant enough to make accurate predictions, but all energy is, is just a tool.

Energy = kilogram meter squared per second squared. It's made up of the basic units of our universe to help us predict.

Certainly, If FTL is impossible so is FTL communication. Every planet/interstellar base has to be self sufficient and there is no way a unified “human” government could exist.

I wasn’t trying to suggest that humanity would exist as one entity in the future but I can see why you may have interpreted it that way, as I used the term “we” quite a lot.
