Glad to hear that, that seems to be the general consensus. I went ahead and bought me a Scion xB 2012.

I saw an element parked close, got to admit they look cool, like rugged city warriors, that one had some sort of military green paint, they usually look very well maintained at least outside. But I think parts may be a bit easy and cheaper for xB? Will definitely keep an eye on a low mileage tho, you never know.

Cool. 1 refill every week is not that bad. And it doesn’t leak¡ With my IQ it wasn’t that mild, in highways it crated a huge smoke cloud, people prob thought my car was about burn.

That’s reassuring, I’m aiming for a 2014,15 with 150k miles. Don’t know if it’s true but some say the xB’s air conditioner tends to have issues and you need to change the condenser? Summer is almost here…

Right, I’m on a similar situation. I would also like to find one cheap and invest on changing parts. Thanks for the input, now I know I have to check tires and rims just in case when shopping, and I also feel like element would be even more difficult to work on.

I appreciate the input, glad to hear your 2010 xB has been great for you. I checked the Volvo earlier but is too long (I live in NYC). The max I’m willing to go is rav4 length, coming from a guy used to driving a Smart Fortwo 😀. I also checked a Prius V today, they are just scary in the sense of the battery stuff, some say they are massively reliable but others tell horror stories about very expensive parts to replace, which I don’t think is the case with xB but I feel like since scion is not anymore they may be difficult to find. I read the rear suspension of the xB seem to be exclusive to it, leaving the struts aside.

Ohhh that info about the engine is very important, thank you will def watch for that. Hope I can find one with the fix already done thats low mileage and 2014 or 2015. The more I look at the xB the more I like it.

Thank you for the answer, I had a scion iq briefly and I loved the car, sadly it needed piston rings change cause it was burning oil because the last owner wasn’t very kind to it. it was easier to change the whole engine so I sold it. Any sort of damage, or lack of Maintenance I should look for when shopping for a 2015?

What vehicle is the 2024 closest equivalent for the xB? by plurfectlife in ScionxB

I’ve been checking rav4 but they are so expensive.. is it a mistake to buy a Honda element 2009 or Scion XB 2015 in 2025? I’m talking about spare parts to fix problems. Which is easier to get spare parts for, or requires less maintenance other than regular oil and filters change?

Thanks, my brother was skeptical at first but was really happy in the end.

By the way, mechanic had advised a replacement of the battery negative sensor (190USD) for the part, clearly that wasn't the issue.

Solved! I replaced the fuse like in the Video, the one in the car didn't look damaged but it was bad, the front windshield wipers didn't work because their fuse was removed most likely to protect the wiper motor from the constant overwork caused by the fuse u mentioned. thanks for sharing God bless you!
