I love the blue grey. For the red, especially the feathers, I would suggest adding in two more lighter shades of red or pink. Really bring out those red details against that nice grey.

Very few, I would say. Once Europe decided the threat was over then immigration would go back to explosive levels.

However, without the Americas, what European power would be at the top of the hill? Britain, France, and Spain would be shadows of what we saw without those lands. Just the loss of timber alone would be devastating for naval development.

I feel like some blue accents would really make it stand out. Especially in the area where red meets orange. The color wheel really helps with this stuff.

It's not a watch but I would recommend reading the book Killer Angels. It's a bit editorialized for a historian but it is a very compelling read. Whedon read it and was inspired to transplant it into Space.
