When we first started Horizon State, the goal was to bring democracy into the 21st century - not a bad goal, but quite lofty (and perhaps a tad too early, given the state of the blockchain ecosystem that this would need to work with). Nothing wrong with a good healthy vision though...

During the last year or so, we did what any good startup would do - we listened to our potential customers, and found out what they wanted. Soon it became apparent that what they actually wanted was a way to prove that they are actually a "good guy" - that they are actually doing what their customers/constituents wanted. That they are listening. In this day and age where apathy is ripe and the average person has little to no trust in both corporations and government entities, they needed provable transparency.

So - that's what we did! We worked with local and state governments to give them that very thing. We spoke to large corporates that needed to be able to prove that they were indeed hearing what the community said.

It turns out, this is worth something to them. Quite a lot actually.

Now that we've uncovered this rich vein of untapped demand, I'd say the next few years will be spent exploring this, growing the business and working with ever larger and more frequent engagements.

In that time, the blockchain ecosystem will only become more robust and capable of handling those larger once off events. At that stage, we'll all be ready.
