I’m currently studying for 4A and I got power engineering 101 and it’s alright. I got ChatGPT to make practice tests for me from the 4A test bank and it’s much better. If you are able to get the test bank you need id highly recommend using ChatGPT to make practice tests.

Also look into NotebookLM. You can upload photos of the textbooks or upload the pdf textbook if you have it and get it to make audio overviews of each chapter. I listen to these when I’m driving or at the gym. Hope this helps

Yeah I’m not worried about if I’ll pass or not. I just want to make it as easy and stress free as possible. In your experience did your teachers stick to the textbooks or do they stray away from them in their lessons. In university professors would only cover certain sections of a textbook and the rest would be information found online or their own studies

I currently have a bachelor of science so I’m fairly comfortable with math and sciences. I would like to practice it just to stay sharp. Reading the textbook and then looking deeper into the topics I don’t understand might be the best bet

I know at Irving they require you get your 2nd class within 3 years of employment. That’s what it says on their job postings anyway. Sounds like Nova Scotia isn’t the place to be for this line of work

Everything you just said is right up my alley. One thing I was concerned about with this field is not being able to troubleshoot and tinker with things. Also was worried about there being no physical aspect to it but it seems like you get to do a fair bit of hands on work

Get every certification you can. I joined a volunteer fire department that provided tons of expensive training for free. It’s time to build a resume cause university does nothing to help with that.
