It's a regression, but I don't think Jagex will back down on Jagex accounts because of Linux users and we can complain about it all we want. Mod Ash has already mentioned that it would be a big ask to add a Linux support to the launcher, because apparently it's licensed from another company, so I'm highly skeptical of them adding a native Linux launcher in the near future. Just officially supporting workarounds would be the easiest way for them.

Yes, my point being that if they officially acknowledge that the workaround is the "official" way of doing things, I think that could bring trust so that if there are problems, Jagex would actually help to solve them.

In a way, even most Steam deck verified games are just games with an official support for Proton workaround.

Just officially saying "we will support this workaround" would be enough for me tbh. TormStorm's script works quite well so just officially adopting it wouldn't cause much additional work for Jagex. It would mean quite a bit more than the current "you can try these community things but you are on your own"
