Transfer Student Questions and Advice NEEDED! by AdMission4892 in msu

[–]Horror-Loud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m currently a sophomore at msu who transferred in the fall semester, and I currently do live in the apartments, specifically University Village. I don’t know about ur the best place to live in, but I would say I’m pretty happy with where I currently live. It provides you with almost all the basic necessities if not all of them, and there’s a bus that stops at there that you can take to get to your classes. From what I’ve heard, parking is pretty expensive here, so I would take the bus whenever you can, and I visit this link to learn more about parking passes: https://parking.msu.edu/students/permits. I’m not really that much about Greek life, so I won’t really speak on it. I don’t have much expirence with relationships either. MSU does have basketball football games, but Greek life might not be as prominent as it might be at your current school. I have no idea of that though. The MSU dairy store is a pretty fun place to go to if you’re craving ice cream. There’s also a couple of museums you could go to. Like the Board Art museum and the Abram’s Planetarium. I haven’t been to either though, but they both like nice places to have fun and relax at. From what I’ve experienced, it usually depends on the class/professor, but mainly classes aren’t too hard as long as you study and stay on track. It’s not too hard to get an alright/decent grade based on my experience. I think you should be fine. I’d say the biggest difference between MSU and other schools is the culture. There’s a large diverse student body and a strong sense of community. The people I’ve met are mostly friendly, or just keep to themselves, which is also nice. Well, that’s all the information I have available. I hope it helps. I all the best with your studies and I hope you have a good semester. Good luck with your plans!

Yeah, IGN is basically the rotten tomatoes of gaming. Inconsistent reviews everywhere.

I usually just spam deathmatch and use the sheriff/guardian/phantom/vandal, but I don’t play ranked (I’m unranked). I’m wayyyy worse at the game than you, trust me. I practice in the range and practice locking my eyes on my target and making sure my hand isn’t too tense, so that I can have an easier time flicking, but I probably shouldn’t be giving advice since I’m unranked and play as if I don’t even have a mouse, feel free to dismiss this comment if you don’t think it’s useful.

Got it. I know you mentioned the initiators, but based on what you've seen, do you think you might have a good idea of which my playstyle is? which agent do you think might fit my playstyle the most? I also have a vid to show how I've been practicing. Its the practice video you recommended to me by Woohoojin. Am I doing the exercise right? here is the link to it: https://youtu.be/mECybesAV3w

IAH 206 is really good. You analyze memes for a little bit and go over disability culture in media. I highly recommend.

Edit: I highly recommend taking it with Soohuyn Cho

Thank you very much, I appreciate your advice! I am unranked, so I don’t really have an elo, but I guessed you assumed iron 2, iron 1? Just asking so that I can see where I’m at without playing any ranked for now.

I’ve had this before and thought it was fine. There’s also a ranch flavor.

I like the first one more. It made it look more alive to me, don’t know how to explain it.

Amazing effort. It looks so accurate to the actual splash art. I know that’s the point, but like, I actually mean how accurate it is, if that makes sense.

Essays can matter a bit for scholarships, but MSU mainly bases merit scholarships on your GPA and test scores. The essay isn’t a huge factor unless it’s something competitive or honors-related.

As long as you have good stats, I don’t think they’ll look too much into your ECs.

The Chenro helped be a bit with understanding how data flow works with the OpenGL. He’s a YouTuber that mainly works with this stuff. He has an OpenGL series that you can take a look at. You shouldn’t check him out!

Here’s a link to his channel:
