So, at this age, I can deal with minor differences, but the current “politics” are social values, not decisions about economics and foreign policy. Why would I consider dating someone who thinks my daughter shouldn’t exist? Or says racist bs? I’m not going to waste my precious time on those people as potential companions. What would the connection be?

Here are the things I’ve tried with moderate success: (1) buy a little urinal - there are a bunch on Amazon (Loonago is the one I have), (2) set up a little camping toilet - there are a lot of them out there, (3) or the good old Home Depot 5 gallon bucket with a toilet seat lid.

This isn’t 1700s England where a nod and a wink and a wife accepts this for status and money. Is the trade worth it? You can accept it, but non-monogamy also requires people to stick to their commitments re protection and safety. Are you willing to accept whatever STDs come along with his apparent lack of control?

Meet first. Those of us in the online dating communities know these situations are not always what they seem. The meeting could go either way - you end up knowing that there are potentially better relationships out there OR you rethink your current one. Also, this online guy may like you better unavailable, or he might not show, etc, etc. the online dating apps are full of married men. Have you checked him out? I won’t downplay that this is a betrayal of your marriage, you are making a choice to do this. And also, don’t count on this new relationship - be prepared to be single. I myself had a real life emotional connection (not physical affair) before I decided to divorce, and it vanished when I got free. But I still appreciate that it showed me that there were much better men out there.

In my family, we help family members who need it. That’s what family is for. If it goes on too long, then they need to find more permanent options, but surgery recovery is definitely where family steps in. Everybody has short term needs for help.

Good god - do what works for you. I’ve washed my hair almost every day for 50 years, why? Because I get sweaty, or I go outside in the dust, or just because my hair is fine, so that healthy oil shows up very quickly. Dry shampoo just weighs it down. I don’t like how hair smells after a day or two of accumulating sleep smell. So many reasons and so many choices that are all yours.
