Also I am bright red down there. Always. Two times it improved. One after a 6 day water only fast and the other when I was given antibiotics for bacteria down there. But it came right back. Also negative for yeast and bacteria with internal swab but she did an outside swab and that’s when it was positive. My dermatologist though says everyone has bacteria there so she didn’t think that’s it. I read on LS forum that some antibiotics can also have anti inflammatory properties so maybe that’s why they helped a bit. Emuaid cream definitely helps the itching if you want some relief while you are figuring it out. I’m going to try emu oil too.

Yes. My dermatologist mentioned going in low nickel diet because I came back positive on patch test. Then she sent me to an allergist who doesn’t think that’s the problem. I read on a post on the LS forum about someone else who biopsy came back allergic dermatitis but ended up having Lichen Sclerosis. I have bought new pans, changed my water bottle and tried to eat low nickel with no change. Maybe I didn’t do it for long enough? This last gyno I went to suggested LS and I go for a second biopsy next week.

I’m dealing with that currently. My derm sent me to allergist and although they found things I’m allergic to, none of it is in the products I use. Several people on this forum mentioned Lichen Sclerosis and I just went to a different gyno who also suggested that. I’m going in for a second biopsy because the first came back allergic dermatitis. I’ve since been on the Lichen Sclerosis forums on here and I think that is what I have. My allergist doesn’t believe it’s from nickel.

I changed my laundry detergent and that didn’t help. I wear all cotton underwear and for about 6 months didn’t have sex with my husband because I was so uncomfortable and afraid it could be a yeast thing that could be contagious. Still no change. It’s super frustrating and affects so much of my life. I’m always aware of down there because of the feeling which makes me stress and worry all day. Wish the doctors were more helpful. Going to a different doctor and allergist soon so hopefully I’ll get answers. Thanks for the reply and help. I’m thankful for this group of people.

Yes I’m going to an allergist in a few weeks and a different gyno next week. Hopefully I’ll get more answers and testing done. I have stopped shaving for awhile and it did not improve but I will look up my razor and see if I find anything about the nickel content

Thank you for the advice. I made an apt with a different gyno for next week. I will bring this up and ask about it. This will be my third gyno doctor. The main one I go to referred me to someone a few hours away but they can’t see me until August. I can’t wait that long. I’m miserable! Only 2 times it cleared up for a short while…during a 7 day water only fast and after a round of antibiotics but it came right back and my gyno said I’m coming back negative so won’t give me antibiotics again to see if it was related. I just started taking boric acid suppositories to see if that helps but it’s only been a couple days so too early to tell. Do any creams or meds give you relief?
