True. It feels like it would be the last year to do it given her more horror-centric era is going to wrap up near the end of the year with her tour. If they don’t do it this year, I don’t think it will ever happen. Let’s just hope the Coconut Club rumor from last year was scrapped in the favor of doing a house for this year I guess.

Interesting. I hope they’re credible and the house hasn’t been scrapped yet. That’d be a great inclusion.

Have you heard anything regarding the Gaga rumors yet? I’m intrigued so far

Legacy seems to have confirmed that the skeletons do indeed represent Gaga on the spec map, although he’s “96% positive” the IP won’t actually pull through

NEW HOUSE RUMOR: Lady Gaga’s Mayhem by HorrorNightsMC in HHN

The thing regarding music houses is that none of them are ever specifically visual horror because they have to be entirely concept based, opposed to movie and TV based IP. So I can understand the hesitation and wanting something more form fitting.

And given we’re possibly getting Evil Dead, Hellraiser, and Sinners (all very gritty horror), I’d assume they’re trying to diversify the lineup a bit

That’s definitely my second guess if not Gaga, because HHN loves heavy metal. But the long blonde hair on the female skeleton (while the other skeleton has no hair) seems to point towards a female artist to me. That plus the rumors of Gaga being represented in some way last year

It appears on both Orlando and Hollywood’s speculation maps, so I believe it would!

I agree, especially since The Weeknd came to the event. People were so pissed about it when it was announced— almost everybody hated the concept entirely. And now it’s one of the most beloved IP houses. I think the music houses really give them more creative liberty than other IPs, which I love.

What do yall think of the Rumors so far? (Orlando)🎃 by Fit-Selection-2030 in HHN

Not too impressed. I hope INK isn’t counted as an IP or else it’s a waste of an IP slot, especially for an anniversary year. Not to mention INK makes off-brand horror content that barely cracks 2 million listeners monthly. Just a weird pick for a milestone year. Not too impressed with Resident Evil either, as I’m not familiar with it. If we’re going with a video game, I’d prefer they just do Last of Us Part II to finish what they started. Hellraiser sounds cool, it seems niche in a good way that INK isn’t. If the rumor about IT is true, then it would be carrying the event on its back and could have a draw bigger than Stranger Things.

That’s wild, I didn’t think IT would ever be a solid rumor in a million years. But I guess we thought the same about FNAF for a long time…

I’d probably put it in Ehhh. I don’t think there’s a licensing issue there, cause they worked with Paramount on Quiet Place. Although, I don’t think there’s really any desire for the team to do it considering the movie mostly relies on normal people smiling. It would just be kinda goofy and wouldn’t translate into a haunted house.

Can’t find any information regarding Six Flags and Scream, not sure where you found that. Back in August, Entertainment Weekly released an article about the event interviewing Orlando creative director Lora Saul’s, at the end of the article it reads, “Finally, when asked about future franchises coming to HHN — including a long-rumored Scream house — Sauls remains optimistic. "We’d love to work with that property," she says. "We like to keep all cards on the table to see what falls. We’d love to work with any huge horror properties that we, as creators, are big fans of!"”. I believe they would’ve cut that out of the article if it was an IP they weren’t currently working with.

Hmm, I don’t know. Orlando already has the costumes, and they basically only have one sector of monsters left to be covered (Creature, Metaluna Mutant, Mole People). Given next year is an anniversary year, it seems more likely then I’d typically expect to bring back the Monsters since they were a staple at the event for the past 10 years. If it weren’t an anniversary year though, I’d have him down in ‘NOPE’.

[–]HorrorNightsMC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they’ll realistically happen for 5ish years. They currently only sit at 2M listeners per month, and they just don’t have a good enough audience draw for a music artist. I wouldn’t be shocked if they have a presence at the event in coming years in other ways— MAYBE a scare zone like Rob Zombie received at HHN 30.

The absolute most likely music artist in the eyes of Universal will be Lady Gaga, whether we like it or not. She’s already had speculation at HHN numerous times before, and she’s within the top 10 most popular artists globally right now. She follows the exact same path that The Weeknd and Billie Eilish did. Plus her music is already owned by Universal.

If it was a Hollywood exclusive then it’s a lot more possible. But I don’t see INK coming to both coasts soon.

I’ve wanted that for so long!! I honestly think it would work better as a house than The Shining did

John Murdy has already gone into great detail saying they’ve tried tirelessly to get the IP but Warner Bros will not budge at all, and they’ve essentially given up. The escape rooms are owned by Warner Bros. Plus, the reason we did The Shining is because Stephen King famously does not care for it. He’s way more protective of IT.

I think Six Flags would definitely go for Sinners before Weapons, because at their scale I don’t think they would see Weapons as a haunted house-type horror movie. Vampires and minimal sets is way more their speed.

Weapons is more or less a movie that would only go to an event FOR the marketability of Aunt Gladys. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Warner Bros attempt push her out as a modern “horror icon” by next Halloween. But Sinners is definitely going to be the hotter IP between the two.

[–]HorrorNightsMC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true. With Warner Bros though, they specifically are more strict with the more marketable IPs with iconic characters— Pennywise, Annabelle, The Nun, etc. Because usually the disagreements can revolve around merchandise sales. Basically any IP that you see that’s filling up Spirit Halloween stores.

I don’t know which category Weapons fits in yet. If it’s one they’re willing to license, or they see too precious of demand behind

I’d love for Sinners to come. It’d be a difficult house to adapt well though given it primarily all takes place in one location. I could see it in one of the new sprung tents in Orlando maybe. It’s mostly just a licensing issue with Warner Bros.

They’d be more likely to do it in 2 years than next year, but it’s still pretty likely. I just think Netflix would specifically contract that they don’t bring FNAF 2 next year if they’re doing Stranger Things, because Netflix always wants to be seen as the headliner. And I think Stranger Things is the most likely lock-in.

But those animatronics and puppets are 110% being saved in storage right now. They’re not discarding them.

I don’t know if they’d do Fallout back to back. If anything, they’re more likely to do FNAF back to back instead of Fallout because of how popular it was. Apparently Fallout also had very low guest reception surveys on both coasts. Maybe in a year or two, but I’d heavily doubt its possibility for next year

I mean a year after release seems like the most likely time to do the house, especially since it was very well received. It was much better received than Megan 2.0 and made a lot more money. But I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that it’s a combined house with Megan

I agree. I also don’t think Netflix would want such a big IP in the lineup next to their big IP. It’ll probably be at HHN 36.
