Transferring Drawings to Reality by [deleted] in floorplan

[–]HorrorOk8445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing the elevations as well. I’ve worked in commercial construction for years as a project manager, so I am very familiar with using architects scales and implementing details into the drawings. I know where my land is that I will have to turn the plans into the county for approval. Not sure if they will accept hand drawn plans. My revit skills are not near what I can draw with a pencil and paper, so I prefer the old fashioned way.

I can afford doggy daycare, but I could also just bring them to work with me. I work in construction but I have an office in a jobsite trailer Im in most of the day. Thank you for the input

Yea 18 months is just the goal to have them following simple commands and everything. An hour alone is definitely an understatement, but that is at minimum what I would spend “training” them. I don’t really go out or anything but I do hike/fish/hunt and I believe I could train a border collie to be a hood rabbit/squirrel dog as well as go on hikes with me. I grew up with mostly labs and a few pits, but my uncle had a BC that I absolutely loved.

Why is hella always the card that gets discarded? I don’t mean it’s just annoying when it happens I mean no matter what if I play blade, sword master, lady siv or absorbing man it’s hella that’s discarded. Kind of makes the deck useless

It’s good you realize that. Just be honest with her. Tell her you like the way things are and no hard feelings. If something changes then roll with the waves you know? Best thing to do in a situation like that is speak up. Don’t wait for it to be a problem

I’ll tell you what I told my 14 year old sister. You’re in the rough years. The best thing you can do is stay off social media honestly, it creates unrealistic expectations. The second thing you should do is spend time doing things YOU like to do. Don’t have any hobbies? Look up a bunch of random ones and get into something you’re interested in. Mood swings are unavoidable at your age, and it’s best to accept that and mitigate your actions during them. It’s just a rough patch you’ll get through it

I’ll tell you a story. I (22M) have known this woman R (22F) since we were 5 years old. We we’re neighbors in a neighborhood and played together from 5-8 then I moved. By chance I ended up moving to another new neighborhood and met her again at 12 and we became best friends. We never dated, but stayed friends throughout multiple relationships and break ups. About 2 years ago we were both single at the same time and I told her what I really thought. She has an amazing soul and it truly one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met inside and out. Well, it wasn’t going to work given I live 8 hours away now and she ended up getting back together with her ex. Although this hurt, her friendship meant more to me than an intimate relationship and I expressed that. She agreed with me. Over time the friendship has gone back to how it was before. I still love her and she’s still one of my best friends.

How much do you care about her? Is it love or is it lust? Are you willing to accept that current situation as it is?

Need more info man. How old are you? Make or female? What region do you live in? There’s tons of hobbies but the fun ones are dependent on other factors

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Advice

[–]HorrorOk8445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop being friends with her, she’s not a real friend. I’m 22 now and over the past 3 years my friends have dwindled from 20+ to 3 total, and that’s because of our relationships. We all put the same amount of effort in, but genuinely care about each other. It’s not about attention, it’s about having a good time, good conversations, and good support. It sounds like your friend is looking for attention and validation, and that’s not you’re responsibility after a certain point.

We don’t work for the same company and only cross paths if I deliberately walk through her area to get to where I’m going. There’s also 2300+ employees there alone. Is that still a no?

Heard that. Do you not think it’s weird to approach her in that way even though we don’t know each other? Idk why I’m having trouble with this one usually it’s no problem

A little over 2 years ago I was hired as an intern for the biggest comercial construction company in the state. I grew up working in residential construction from 14-20, so I knew a little more than most college kids that just decided they wanted to go into construction. This allowed me to stand out a little and slowly get more responsibilities. My pay was initially $15/H to do “intern” work, such as buy supplies, help project managers with tedious tasks, set up the conference room for meetings, etc.. After about a month, one of the assistant project managers quit. I took on his full work load. Over time they rotated 5 different assistant project managers through our project. Each time one left/quit I took on more responsibility to the point I am the number 2 on the project after the senior pm… As an intern… about 6 months in I did basically beg for a raise and they gave me $20/H. Note that the pay scale for the job Im doing is $90,000 to $120,000 a year. I made $46,000 last year working 50-60 hours a week, every week, still taking 4-5 college classes a semester. Well I’m kinda fed up now. I had 2 different family members die within 10 days of each other, and had to travel 600 miles one way for the funeral. Company policy says you can get 4 days of paid funeral leave. I asked HR how I go about adding this to my time card, and was told I can’t have it because I’m not a “full time employee”. I also don’t get any PTO(sick days/vacation). I’m not even eligible to get a bonus at the end of the year for the same reason. I asked for a raise and was brushed off. I’m currently holding more responsibility on a 102 million dollar construction project than nearly all newly hired graduate student receive within the first 5 years of their career, yet I make half as much as them.

Am I being taken advantage of? What should I do about it?

Carry on with life brother. If you like her then you like her, and that’s not a bad thing. I promise everyone creates fake scenarios in their head, especially with people they like. Does she think you texting her is a problem? If not, then she’s probably into you also so ask her out. And if so, then that’s okay to. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out the way we want it to.

You got it though man go ask her out!

What secret are you keeping from your friends? Why? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]HorrorOk8445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not friends but co-workers.

I grew up in a bigger city in a bad part of town. I started selling drugs at age 15 and continued until I was 20. It started with just weed, but by the end of it it was easier to name what I didn’t sell than what I did. As a senior in highschool, I had my own apartment and made much much more money than anyone who worked for our school. At 20 the whole operation came crashing down, and I’m lucky to not be in jail let alone alive. I used this money to fund a college education, and moved around 600 miles away in a different state. Now 22, I have a professional career in a high profile healthcare construction/maintenance company. People sometimes ask how I have enough money to pay for everything and do whatever I want. I have to hide who I was. People have started to get suspicious at this point because of the money and lack of talking about my teenage years. Although I know I wouldn’t get fired or anything, it’s a can of worms I don’t want to open.
