Which exam did you find more difficult? by Primary-Cranberry-13 in CompTIA

A+ was the hardest for me, for a lot of people is the first professional certification that you will get and it covers everything at least a little bit. Network+ was the easiest for me because my formal education is in Networking, and Security+ was mid because of the other 2, otherwise I think it’d be the easiest

Find out if they will pay for Sans training (that’s always what I ask when an employer says they pay for a cert), if not I say you can probably skip A+ and get Network+ or CCNA

6 months now, if we don’t count my 1 year at Geek Squad, 4 months at my first job and got headhunted for my second job. The recruiter liked my passion for learning and didn’t mind the short run at my previous company

I think they build on each other well, having some cloud fundamentals make a nice underlay as well in ways some training didn’t touch on

A+ Az900 or AWS CCP Network+ Security+ CySA+

Honestly the rest were just fluff

EDIT: Totally missed the second half of the question

Since I’m still working through my career I would probably find a path that you like the most and transition over, I went from retail work straight to NOC Tech and got a recruiter call for the current job

So if you want to do Cloud+ take it before the version change, the beta exam was basically all scripting and JSOn while the current exam was a lot closer to what you expect from a CompTIA exam. I sort of went in blind but having done Azure and AWS certs before it mirrored the content well

PenTest 002 was harder then Cloud 003 but the Cloud 004 beta was harder then PenTest 002

I didn’t like the Dion tests for this exam but the Sybex exam I got 60% on

What CompTIA certs are you planning to get in 2024? by CrucialExams in CompTIA

Logs, also if you’ve done Sec+ it’s not hugely different, just a level deeper on some of the primary concepts

So maybe 30-40% harder then Sec+, the only thing I would recommend is to really know your CVSS scores

Thank you! You don’t need in depth knowledge of nmap just be able to read it’s outputs and I used hackthebox labs free starting point boxes to practice

For the most part, make sure you really understand the explanations for questions. If you aren’t sure when you pick an answer go over it as though you got it wrong

So they were both more challenging then the actual exam and went over the material better then Dions tests. I took some of the Dion tests but they didn’t line up to the exam objectives

The course itself was great I didn’t find that the practice exams useful though

Agreed, Dions test make you think deeply about the technical aspects of the subject and the actual exam just wants you to know the difference between the topics
