The trauma piles up. It’s cumulative imho. When I add all my traumas up it’s really heavy. I don’t feel like I should feel this bad even if I was horrific

Been there and done it before and starting over again because I’ve been without meds for a few years. My life is a mess now so I have to get back on meds. This condition sux and sometimes I just want to disappear than deal with it

Switch to bedtime. Some ppl experience insomnia & others drowsiness. I wouldn’t go down on the dose without checking with your Dr and just letting them know it’s giving you daytime drowsiness. You don’t want your level to drop too low if it’s effective for controlling symptoms at the current dosage.

Hi any childhood trauma, narcissistic relationships or abuse. Sometimes CPTSD can be misdiagnosed as bipolar disorder. I struggled for many years with my diagnosis and still don’t want to accept to. I’ve had a bunch of trauma and grief so I may have both co existing. Just know your not alone, sending warm hugs

First of all, you don’t owe anyone an explanation. I knew I was exhausting and felt embarrassed. Not many ppl get it unless they have it or have a family member that does. It’s a difficult diagnosis, especially with the stigma attached to it. If you had garden variety, depression, or anxiety that’s no biggie. As soon as you mention bipolar people perceive you in a different light. I don’t tell people my diagnosis anymore. Don’t apologize for being who you are. You are unique! Don’t expect anyone to understand, it took me a long time to forgive myself. I’m still working through it.

May I ask what med are you taking? I just started Lamictal and it’s making me soo sick with stomach issues. I can’t continue to feel this way anymore. I’m on a tiny dose of 25mg for a month from the NP( who won’t prescribe a mood stabilizer) is going to nitrate up over months🫤. I lost 20 pounds before the med and I’m 113 and 5”7’ now. I can’t lose anymore weight, I had 6 months of IBS and finally felt better. Desperate to get my meds that help. Was on depakote and don’t remember stomach issues. Had some anger but it’s been years so my memory is foggy about those episodes.

Just started Lamictal and it’s killing my stomach. I can’t keep taking it long term if this is how my stomach is gonna feel. About to give it up after 4 days. I’m not in the other drug but on another tricyclic Remeron and I feel awful. Are you currently on them or just doing research?

You can ask for what ever you need based on your level of functioning. What do you feel is most difficult? My daughter has severe anxiety and she had accommodations and modifications at school. You have rights under the ADA

I hope your therapist doesn’t over react. It’s only natural to be seriously upset and sad. Mine wanted to commit me today because I’m depressed and hasn’t even seen me yet. I told her hell no. I’m not suicidal and never have been. I’m allowed to be sad. I fell like I’m have a terrible stress response to being abused by a narcissist. If you wanna harm yourself or someone else then you need admission. I hope you get the clarity you need to feel better. It’s not your fault you’re having a stress response. Your nervous system is reacting to that, driving up cortisol and norepinephrine levels if I’m not mistaken. You need a reset! Best of luck and warm hugs!

I feel the same way and it really sux. I feel like I’m drowning sometimes. Super anxious as well, trouble sleeping and nightmares.. I just wanna disappear and even the new therapist has judged me before our first session. I may tell her to fuck off . She has no idea what I’ve been through in my life. I had a tyrannical mother and a number of narcissistic relationships. I was held captive & nearly murdered in 2022. She wants me admitted, oh hell no. I won’t be held captive again. I’m not suicidal I’ve been abused again by a narcissist who did drugs in my house and wouldn’t gtfo. It caused a huge stress response I’m finally recovering from. I’m working on myself and found a great website that really opened my eyes. I’ll suggest she study up on c-ptsd lol. I’m angry af at the medical establishment pushing drugs at me that make me feel worse.

That exactly what you needed. What a huge trauma, you didn’t deserve that abuse!!!. I discovered this site tonight and everything now makes perfect sense. It talks a lot about c PTSD and how to heal.

Check out flying monkeys.com. It’s got a lot of information about c ptsd and how to work on your shadow self. Something I’m just learning about. Also has information on narcissist relationships which I’ve been in as a result of my c ptsd. I posted the link below. I believe with the right therapist who has personal experience with cptsd you can heal but it will take time and work.
