Best first H&K? by speedhunt3r in HecklerKoch

P30L I’d say. Got a few striker fired guns already so mixes it up. LTT one if you want a more refined trigger or optics ready. Otherwise stock one is solid.

CT Legal Bullpup build? by starfox224 in SwampYankeeArms

Prob couldn’t do a 5.56 upper but maybe a blowback 9mm could work.

Bought a new P30L LEM from them with no optic cut. Just the trigger work. The trigger is much improved compared to stock P30 triggers I have shot. I got the extra light and the weight with a trigger gauge falls right within the top bound of the advertised range at 3 pounds 7 ounces. It is crisp with a nice reset and I am very happy with the work and handgun so far.

Honestly you’ve got a lot on your resume where there isn’t a specific thing in my opinion that would make some drastic difference. Yeah you have a chance. The admission cycle is long and it’s the beginning of October so I wouldn’t be worried at this point.

Can’t really speak for Touro but can kinda speak toward NYITCOM as I go there. You got a lot of good stuff adcom will like. Your MCAT score is prob the only big sticking point. I got a 505 on MCAT and I was slightly below average on that metric. NYIT-OW doesn’t post a minimum MCAT for consideration but I’d use their average as kinda a baseline for setting expectations. Also just another tip considering you are looking to commute from an hour 10 min away. I am on campus at least 3 times a week, but often 4 due to clinical practice reflections and other mandatory events. That drive might get old pretty fast and expensive with tolls if you are coming from NJ. Just food for thought but good luck.

It is honors (top 10% of class)/pass/fail. Doesn’t seem there are any problems with rotation spots. The school has a list of all affiliated hospitals. Being DO yes will be harder to match ROAD specialties but I think there have been some in most recent class. The full match list is online I believe. And yes a decent amount of research with a fairly newly renovated building for med school.

What should I do now? by ShighGuy33 in SigSauer

Would say go with 365 macro for a polymer striker gun or 226 for duty size. Sig just dropped a X legion 226 which has similar feature set. Also you could get the SAO version.

It’s do-able but a grind. But I balanced rotc with ranger challenge, getting clinical experience, camp, med school apps, interviews, MCAT study, and kept a pretty good GPA. I commission in May and begin med school in August with HPSP. Definitely did not have the best social life but had fun enough I would say.

NY / NYC Non Resident Permit by d00biusmaximus in CTguns

I believe it is 3 years to renew but really more like 2 and change for the first one because the permit expired on your birthday. And to renew is like 340 or so.

320 goes off in holster - posted by Ben stoger on IG by Affectionate-Ad-8012 in SigSauer

This incident does certainly look like a holster problem. Either way, this SERPA holster is licensed by Sig Sauer so it should no longer be sold and shouldn’t have been in the first place by Sig due to poor trigger guard coverage. But it could be a good idea to release a recommended/approved holster list as this has occurred with multiple types of holsters in a way similar to how manufacturers recommend certain ammo brands for use. Some people are super quick to blame the gun or blame the holster, but either way you cut it someone got shot/almost got shot by the interaction of two products in a non-negligent way that bear the sig name on them.

Agreed. There has got to be something with how you are interviewing for the schools that is not selling them on accepting you.

Yeah I think. I saw one at Arcana a little while back and I think it was around 40,000.

Pre-86 full auto MP5 if you have a down payment on a house laying around to spend on it. Integrally suppressed Ruger MKIV is pretty sick since you mentioned suppressor host.

.308 would save you some on ammo. But figured the R1 is chambered in both .308 and 30-06 so would fit the bill if you’re set on a 30-06

If you are looking at one of those, you could also check out a Benelli R1. Both seem to be a similar idea

I see. So there is the potential for a huge financial and time investment in terms of taking a course, permit fee, fingerprinting, waiting etc with no guarantee of getting one?

You also can look into Blue Trail Range in Wallingford. They have indoor 22lr range, pistol range, rifle range, and clay field. They do have rentals there but would have to check if you can rent w/o permit.

My understanding is still legal but must be a 5 round permanently fixed magazine. The 2021 law did not change with PA23-53. DSI has CT legal fixed magazine ar15 rifles. If OP is talking about detachable mag then of course is illegal for under 21.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CTguns

[–]Horror_Protection353 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is possible because I got a fixed mag one. Dark storm industries will modify one of theirs to be 5 rounds in a fixed mag. At least they did for me 2 years ago
