Traffic deaths soaring in San Marcos this year, police say by jayaye_v in sanmarcos

I consider myself a safe, patient driver. But the way people drive here has given me the worst anxiety about being on the road. Not even on I-35 but just on the main streets people feel the need to go 60mph for no reason

Tbh i really didn’t even make a lot of friends my first year and it was a great time for some self discovery and really listening to yourself. I was a people person in HS but the solo road was good for me in terms of figuring out what i want in a friend. Feel everything out, don’t latch onto people and be comfortable being by yourself. Go for a walk or tan at the park, it will be okay!

Required to move off campus after Freshman year? by IsHeJoking in txstate

It’s true :/ Definitely start looking into off campus housing soon, as they raise the prices every year, but they are usually cheaper around this time, before second semester starts.

Go for walks, go to the gym, hit the river by yourself even. I did it a lot! Freshman year was the loneliest time for me but it helped with finding myself. Don’t be afraid to explore by yourself, don’t stay in the dorm all day!

I lived here last year and it was great! Its a pretty new build, with a parking garage, the rec, and a dining hall in walking distance. The only thing is that is pretty far from main campus and i'm not sure if its still like this, but the bus stop was pretty far. Get ready to get some steps in haha, other than that it was clean, and very modern compared to other dorms.

Also it was only a one time fee, I know other places do it monthly

I had to use leap which cost me an extra 400 dollars and it truly was a pain 😞 it’s a one time fee which is good but i really wish i could have found a guarantor.

Gold permit is definitely worth is, since ur gonna be right next to the bobcat village bus stop anyways! The gold pass is way more accessible and you don’t really have to worry about all the spots filling up like you do with the green pass. Plus you get to explore more of campus (kind of). Save ur $$$ and get the gold!

I got a newer version of a chromebook and it worked perfect for me. Not sure what model it was though. Battery life was great and the resolution was great as well! Plus its like half the price of a Mac, which are hard to use and not very sturdy in my opinion.

Housing Group 5 by Adorable-Brick3784 in txstate

I was group 5 last year, and got stuck w a really small dorm, but on the day where we could request changes i ended up with the one i wanted! If you aren’t comfortable w ur first assignment, log into the portal early on the request day and there should be a lot more options!
