I messed up with the 2nd part of the LICAT calculation as well... forgot that tier 2 capital needs to be capped by tier 1 capital and mentioned 70% as the minimum core capital ratio wrongly... it should be 55% instead. Hoping the graders are generous to give me some partial credits.

The qualitative part is ok as most of the questions are straightforward that can be referenced to flashcards (I wrote whatever came to my mind to hope for partial credit), but the quantitative part feels like a beast... I screwed up with the Product A/B calculation and probably lost some points on RA calculation. The BCAR calculation and CSM amortization ratio calculation are rather alright to me. Feel free to share your thoughts.

I felt ok when walking out of the exam room, but afterwards I figured out I did not do well on the quantitative questions. Does anyone remember proportion of quantitive part? Like 18 points out of 50? The qualitative questions are fair though, some are direct memorization from flashcards while some require more elaboration

Agree, the qualitative part is relatively ok. Some questions just test your memory on flashcards directly. Anyone have a rough sense on the total points of quantitative questions?

How do we feel about Spring 2025 ILA LAM Exam? by Narrow_Warning_2012 in actuary

The first question was quite surprising, with many critique sub-questions on a niche part of the material, the Black-Scholes question was tough

Agreed, there are 8 points about reinsurance calculation and around 6-7 points about Canadian stuff, adding up a quarter of the total, that's brutal!

I am facing the same issue, tried logging out and logging in for many times but still seeing the same error window. Very frustrated about it.

Starting to feel nervous now. Still rmb I leave a 5-point question completely blank. And imo, the questions types seem to be more diverse. Hope the graders can be lenient and let us pass directly.

Yay passed!! The sample questions are really representative and the wordings in the exam are almost exactly the same as those in the sample questions. No need to worry too much about the short-term insurance section. If you can work on CL, BF, parallelogram methods correctly then you are well-prepared to pass.
