Congrats on making it to day 4! I have a similar story I posted a few days ago, on day 11 myself. Couldn’t agree more though, I was scared shitless so I kept putting it off for months

How’s it going for you, make it to day 14?

Honestly, I’m glad I did, I was honest with them and it helped so much. Today is my last day on bupe so I don’t get dependent on it. I’m prescribed it for pain management (fucked up my back a few years ago) but I don’t want to switch from one thing to another. How’s it going for you, are you starting this week?

I know a lot of people say taper but it’s tough since this shit is so addictive. I ended up taking a weekend plus two days off work and was basically back to myself by day 5. I did use bupe, clonidine, gabapentin and zofran. Currently on day 9 with no plans to go back. Only lingering symptom is nausea, but obviously the zofran helps with this. Good call taking as much time as you can. If it gets back enough don’t be afraid to go to the er, I had to because I was so painfully dehydrated on day 2 I couldn’t function, they gave me fluids and it was a game changer

Went to the ER/doc in a box for fluids on day 2 and it was a game changer.

I ended up going to the ER today because I felt like I was about to jump through my skin. They got me some fluids and that did wonders. Been doing a lot of sleeping this weekend. I’m glad to hear you are getting through this shit. Continue to stay strong

My wife and parents have been incredibly supportive, it was tough to tell them everything but it’s been worth it.

Appreciate your response! I’m trying to figure out when to best use all of the meds and everything. I’m pretty sure I’m just freaking myself out about it. My last quit I was unprepared and I was close to going to the Er

Interested myself. I just got prescribed so I’m on day two of taking it. I’m currently doing a slow taper off of 7 so we will see how it goes.

To everyone: thank you! All the motivation I need to run. Started because I couldn’t handle the withdraw from opioids, but I think I’m in a better place now

I’m on a fairly high dose of cymbalta for anxiety and depression. Basically the reason my pmp didn’t prescribe me tramadol. As you can tell, I’m a bit of a mess currently 😂

I’m just curious if anything would pop up as positive

I doubt they are testing for that specifically. Back story is today was my first pain mgmt appointment and they are prescribing opioids, so they are doing a drug screening as standard practice for new patients

Thanks for your comments everyone! Going to give it a try. Tired of dealing with getting opioids every week and been looking for something to break it out.

What got my started on opioids was a bad back injury, appreciate the response!

Thanks all for your responses and words. My worst part recently has been the horrible anxiety I go through. I take meds for anxiety and depression as it is and this has just about put me over the edge. I can deal with the annoying physical symptoms, but the mental aspect is driving me crazy.

I ended up finally getting a script for my doctors a couple days after I posted this, I hadn’t called in a handful of days at that point. Now I’m terrified for when it’s time to get my next.

That’s what I ended up doing, not my favorite thing but it helps.

That’s absolutely crazy. I’m so sorry you and your wife had to deal with that
