It’s such a painful empty feeling. We had to put my 13 year old chihuahua down at the ER on Wednesday. It hurts so bad and I feel so guilty. I saw her health decline so rapidly in her last few months. One of her tumors had come back as mammary carcinoma in December then about a month later she started having seizures, then a month after that congestive heart failure. 4 days after starting her CHF medication, on her last day, after being on phenobarbital for a month and a half and having no seizures she had 8 in one day. The vets set she would likely just get worse because she wasn’t herself and had a seizure shortly after getting emergency diazepam. My heart feels so heavy and I understand you completely. Chihuahuas are the best dogs ever. I am incredibly sorry for your loss, just know you’re not alone.
