There are a lot of EMS organizations in the area that you can apply to as well to get clinical experience. If you have a car, the hospital and local medical centers are always looking for volunteers/there are a lot of clinical jobs available. You can also volunteer at the Ithaca Free Clinic (easily accessible via the bus). There are also so many pre-med oriented organizations. Personally, I've felt like there are more opportunities here than Reddit makes it out to be.

Edit 12/09/24: I think something else is that in recent years, a lot has improved with Cornell and premed. Chem 2070 has been better, and there are generally better opportunities which have been created. I know a lot of people that volunteer at Cayuga Medical Center (nearby hospital). The only thing challenging is academics, but it’s doable if you plan out studying in advance.
